"And you are not." He replied, letting out a gloomy sigh. "So you are not yet dead."
You weren't sure how to feel.
You weren't dead, and that was great-- but this man was. And you were speaking to him.
So where were you?
"Where am I?" You asked, hoping your worrying didn't sound pathetic to your ghostly friend.
"We are deep in Subcon Forest," he replied, tilting his head once more. "Did you not intend to come here?"
"Wh--What is Subcon?" You questioned, practically feeling the color drain from your face. You already knew you were nowhere near home.
"You look quite pale." Moonjumper pointed out, reaching out his hand. "Perhaps we can discuss your whereabouts over some tea? I just gathered new herbs last night."
You felt yourself nod, slowly taking Moonjumper's hand.
He began to lead you deeper into the forest, and you couldn't help but wonder what you had gotten yourself into.
When you finally reached the campfire, the sun had begun to set.
"Have a seat," Moonjumper insisted. "I'll start boiling a kettle of water over the fire."
You obliged, wandering over to a tree stump that was only a foot or so away from the fire. You sat down, watching the flames in front of you flicker.
Normally, a sight such as this would have relaxed you; you always felt drawn to things you feel you shouldn't be drawn to. However, all you could think about were all the questions that filled your mind. Questions that needed answers.
Who is Moonjumper? Where are you? Why are you not dead?
And, most importantly, what was your next move?
