ILLUSIONS II

CHAPTER TEN

Nick: You could have said something, Kimberly. You could have asked me to stop. I would have stayed for you. I would have done anything for you because I love you! I always wanted to be with you and you knew this so why didn't you stop me? What we had wasn't worth fighting for?
Kim: you wanted to leave

He turned around and ran his fist into the wall. That shook her. He was never abusive. She moved back

Nick: oh, fuck
Kim: you should go
Nick: listen to me, Kim
Kim: you should really go

He moved towards her and she moved backwards.

Nick: now you're scared of me. I would never hurt you, not physically. I would never hit you, Kimberly.
Kim: you would, it is only a matter of time
Nick: no, I wouldn't. I love you Kim and that is all that matters to me. Stop pushing me away and let me back in your life. Let's do it this time and let's get it right or wrong, I really don't care but I am not leaving. I am not ready to face the world without you
Kim: I want to be alone
Nick: you just said that you wanted me happy, so make me happy

His phone rang and he looked at it

Nick: oh, damn. I have to go
Kim: yeah, sure
Nick: I'm sorry. I have to take care of this. Can we have this conversation when I get back? I would be back in an hour or two
Kim: don't bother

She said as she walked up toher room. She got on her bed and she slept off, she needed the sleep. When she woke up, she saw Nicholas in her room

Kim: didn't hear you come in
Nick: I wasn't expecting you to
Kim: I thought I told you not to bother
Nick: funny how you think I was going to listen to that.
Kim: why are you here Nick?
Nick: I need to talk to you. I want you back
Kim: not happening
Nick: c'mon, we both want this
Kim: we can't always have what we want. I thought you knew that by now
Nick: who the hell made up that stupid rule?
Kim: I have no idea
Nick: then don't say it like it applies to us because it doesn't. I would not stop until you're mine again. I have loved you and nothing has changed about this. I would be here until you agree to be with me again
Kim: that's a risk you shouldn't take
Nick: why?
Kim: I don't see myself with you anymore. I don't see a future with you anymore.
Nick: that is a lie and you know it!
Kim: Nick, I have so many things that I have to do and I have to do it on my own. I can't have you go down this path with me
Nick: I wasn't waiting for you to ask. I am already going down with you. You don't get it. I would rather go down with you than go up with anybody else. I am here, no matter what. I would always come for you, no matter what
Kim: don't make this harder than it has to be
Nick: you're making it harder than it has to be, let me help

He said as he moved close to her and kissed her. She didn't pull away and before any of them could process what was happening, they were lying naked on each other, gasping for breath. She had a shower after wards and he went in after her. When he came out, he got on her bed and hugged her

Nick: so we're back?
Kim: definitely
Nick: yes!

He said as he kissed her again. She fell asleep and when she woke up, he was gone. He did drop a text and he said that he had somethings to take care off. Friday came quickly and the championship was just one week away. She had looked very tired after the practice and she dropped on the grass. Nick walked up to her

Nick: you okay?
Me: I have no idea. With the championship next week, it's a lot of tension
Nick: I think you'd do great

That wasn't a lie because she did do great and she won. Things were pretty smooth after that. Weeks passed and they were fine until she got a mail. She was in school and it was a Friday. She had just finished from practice again when she pulled out her phone from her locker. She looked at it and it was a file attachment. It contained records of her mother's death. She was surprised. She should have really taken that job as an intern with the CIA. She was probably going to call Gerald and tell him that she changed her mind because she was going to track whoever this was down. She knew that something wasn't clear about her mother's death. Why would Harvard just pick a beef with her family for no reason? It made no sense to her but her dad said that he was just a psychopath and she had agreed with that but that wasn't answering her questions. Harvard's beef looked and felt way too personal for him just to be acting out on his psychopathic instincts. She had told Jayden about her worries and he had signed her up with a therapist thinking she needed help. Everybody was shutting her out when she brought it up but she was going to find her answers regardless. She tossed her phone into her bag and headed to the theater arts class. She looked around and found Nick and Barry. She walked up to them and Nick stood up to hug her. She hugged him back and sighed. She was going to have to keep secrets fr him again not because she needed to but because he was safer that way. He let her go and looked at her
