3rd person POV
Connie was carrying Childe on their back, with Sid following behind swiftly.
The three then got in the 2013 Honda Civic with Sid and Childe in the back seat.
"Is he breathing!? Is there blood!?" Said Connie flooding the gas (to little avail)."Yes, and No!" Shouted Sid.
Connie punch the steering wheel.
"WHY WONT THIS OLD SHIT MOBILE RUN!?!?! WHERE DID YOU GET THIS THING!?!?! ALSO DIDNT YOU HAVE A BUGATTI IN THE FIRST CHAPTER!?!?!?" He screamed. Then, by some miracle, the Honda transformed into a brand new Bugatti. "Nice." Connie chirped.
They speeded to the hospital, possibly (most definitely) hitting several children on the way.
When they finally got there, Childe was still out cold. Sid was now carrying the injured redhead bridal style. The lobby nearly deserted, save for an old, matronly receptionist staring wide-eyed at the group of young adults. "Yes, Hi. We're here to see Dr. Rai. Please and thank you." Huffed Connie. The receptionist was in shock and just pointed to the elevator.
Aakancha Rai, a med school student doing her residency, was going through her socials at a break station in the hospital. She was about to leave for the night when she heard the elevator down the hall ding.
(A/N: I'm just an amateur writer idk shit about med school so don't judge ok bye)
"Hello...? Hellooo????" She called before the doors slid open and the three emerged. "Oh... you again." She growled. "Hehe. Hey Aku! Long time no see." Sid said to his old middle school friend/bully. "Oh look you brought me two ex-convicts as well. You do know I don't have my doctorate yet. Also Im studying to be a physician." She said to Connie with a glare.
This same thing had happened several times before with Childe. But whether it was being flattened by a semi truck, or a lost knife fight he alway, and when I say this I mean it, he always got back up.
Late into the night, Childe was laying in the hospital bed, with the others by his side. "Good news is he's gonna be alright." Aakancha said. "Thanks doc." Connie smiled at her. "Don't call me that." "Ugh, fine." Their smile turned to a pout. "Ahem... so Sid, how was... um... how was prison..." She continued. Sid became visually embarrassed. "Oh yeah. That. It was ok. Not too horrible." The words seemed to march out of his mouth like soldiers.
With Sid this was nothing new. He was always confident with his words. They didn't come from the heart, nor the gut. They came from his head.
"Well, I have a Night Shift to get to. Smell you later, alligators." Connie chimed. "Wait?! You're not just gonna leave me here for the night?" Sid panicked. "Hmph. Sounds like a you problem." They said before leaving.
"Whelp, guess it's just you and me." Aakancha said.
"Yep."
The quiet in the made the atmosphere so thick you could cut it with a butter knife. Both wanted to say something but couldn't find the words to do it right. That was until Aakancha broke the silence.
"So what? We're just not gonna talk about it?" She said.
"Talk about what?" Sid said cluelessly.
"What you did. But you already know that."
"What? Seriously, what?" Sid's false cluelessness turned into, very real abrasion.
"You!? A meth manufacturer!? We both know how fucking ridiculous that sounds, right?"
"..."
"RIGHT!?"
"..."
"..."
"..."
"Fine..."
Aku left the room in silence.
The fluorescence were suffocating. Sid rested his elbows on his legs and his face on his hands with a sigh. His attention shifted to Childe.
"This is ridiculous... isn't it." He breathed into the silence. "I thought i could keep this up for a whole day. Even around Aakancha." He continued.
"They're gonna find out eventually...."
He said.Suddenly Childe sat up.
"Huh?"
"OH MY LORD!" Sid cried.A/N Heyyyyy! Longer chapters are coming soon! Might start posting every Friday once my grades are up. That's pretty much it for today. See you in the next chapter.
