*Knock knock*

"Hey babe," I greeted the boy outside.

"Hey. 30 days no see," he put his hand out and I took it, locking my door as we headed off to our date.

"This is the best place for our date!" he opened a waist tall gate which led us into a garden.

*TUTCH*

"Um..." he looked at the gate then at me.

The gate broke off one of its hinges as he tried to close it.

"That- that wasn't us," I stuttered, grabbed his hand and went inside the garden. The grass was quite muddy and I sort of regretted wearing my new white boots and matching white dress.

There were multiple tables set about but no people.

"See I told you. No one around and we can talk freely," he sat down at a table.

I pulled out the chair in front of his and wiped it a bit before sitting down.

We looked at our menu. "Wow... this is... I mean the food is less costly than I thought," I worded my sentence carefully.

"I know right! So sweet!"

Our ordered food arrived. Nathan started using his phone which annoyed me as I believed it was basic human decency to be present and engaging when out with people. Alex never uses his phone when I'm around.

My mind got lost thinking about him; how he took me to a beach side café and we went diving together, how he taught me to ride his skateboard... I still suck at it.

And how he also pulls out the chair for me to sit down, something Nathan doesn't do. I'm not that salty to argue about it though. The smile which unknowingly grew disappeared when I thought about yesterday again.

If I didn't have Nathan, would I have actually kissed him? What would it be like? I mean...He'll probably not like it because he's had so many girls with him before and I'm just a noobie. I did reject Alex because I was dating Nathan and hoped everything would be alright... but after yesterday's events I believe that's not the case. I shook my thoughts away and started my meal.

The soup tasted like cardboard in water. The French toast was made with watered down milk (too watered down at that) and the pasta was half raw.

"I can see why this place doesn't have many customers," I accidently spoke my thoughts out.

"Uhh... why?" he questioned.

Shit... use brain use brain.

"Duh... cuz this place is hidden in a garden. Not many people can find it," I shrugged. He smiled and nodded, giving me some relief.

"Um... I- I don't know how to tell you this but I forgot my wallet," he laughed awkwardly, "And I know I said this was my treat but I just-"

I interrupted him, "It's alright Nathen. I'll pay. Consider it my treat."

"I... I really love you Nora," he looked at me.

Those sweet words were supposed to fill me up with warmth like once every month, but today they gave life to memories of regret. Yesterday's memories.

I cheated on him... didn't I?

"You know I can't treat you to fancy things but you still didn't leave me. I am really thankful that I have such a loving girl by my side," he held my hand and spoke. He didn't know that each word stung my heart like small poison arrows.

"Hey... Why aren't you looking at me? Did I make you uncomfortable?" he asked.

"No no! It's just... your words are very sweet... It's making me blush," I lied.
