"Scott, try to be nice to y/n. Tonight may be hard for her," I overheard Gem consult Scott as I set the tables. "If this wedding goes wrong, tonight will be hard for us all," he replied. Suddenly, Jimmy walked in thundering. "Jimmy, you have a cloud," Scott scolded.
"I know, Scott, but now I can't find Joel! What do you want from me!?" Jimmy threw up his arms in exasperation. I sighed. I backpedaled into the room in the back of the church and sat down.
I took out a wedding gift from my inventory thinking now's as good a time as any. "Everyone's looking for you." No response. I held the gift out to the side of the giant blood sheep statue. "This present will self destruct if you don't take it in three, two, oooone..." the gift was snatched away and pulled behind the sheep.
I crawled behind and sat next to a man with his knees pulled up to his chin. "Nervous?" I asked Joel. "A bit," he said. This was very unusual Joel behavior. He always radiated "I am strong, I am mighty, I am powerful." He even said it! Even though he's only 5'8''. And everyone knew it. Joel was about as tall as his palace was short.
"What if something goes wrong?" he asked. "What like the demon showing up?" I teased. "What demon?" Joel tensed up and side-eyed me. Lord, this man was dead set on denying the existence of this demon. "Exactly." I winked. "Thanks, y/n," said Joel. "You gonna open that?" I asked gesturing to the gift in Joel's hand. "Oh, bloody hell, no. Lizzie would murder me if I opened any gifts without her," he said. Joel stored the gift in his inventory for later. "You ready?" I asked. "Let's go," Joel stood and helped me up.
We both walked out of the room and everyone gasped. "Oh, please!" I scolded them and everyone started laughing. Joel turned a deep shade of red. I nudged him toward the altar where Joey stood waiting to marry him and Lizzie. I took my seat beside Gem.
All of the rulers were gathered in the church. Princess Katherine Elizabeth Gaming, Wizard GeminiTay, King Smallishbeans, King Smajor1995, Queen Shubble, Lord Pixlriffs, Count fWhip, Codfather Solidarity, Queen PearlescentMoon, King Joey Graceffa, King MythicalSausage, and Queen ExcaliburPlayz. "Please stand for the bride," said Joey. Everyone stood as the front doors flew open. A wedding march began as Queen LDShadowLady, wearing a beautiful midnight blue gown stitched with rainbow pearls and small seashells, a blue coral comb and holding a pink coral and seagrass bouquet to accent her hair, walked down the isle all the way to Joel.
Everyone sat back down. "Ladies and gentlemen, queens and kings, lords and ladies, dukes and duchesses, princes and princesses, non-binary bitches, and anyone-who-somehow-does-not-fall-into-any-of-those-categories" Joey began. "We are gathered here today to witness the union of Smallishbeans, King of Mezalea, and LDShadowLady, the Sea Witch-I mean the Queen of the ocean." Lizzie giggled.
"Joel do you promise to love and cherish and provided as much terracotta as LDShadowLady may need?" Joey asked. "Yeah, to an extent, yeah," Joel said. "Um, that's not what you're meant to say," Lizzie said. Some giggles and chuckles were heard from the crowd. "I mean yeah, sorry, yeah," Joel said.
"I do, it's I do," Lizzie whispered to Joel. "Right, I do, sorry, I do, yeah, yeah, yeah," Joel corrected himself again. I facepalmed. Joey laughed. "And do you, Lizzie, promise to love and cherish and provide as much prismarine as this man could ever need?" Joey asked.
"I do," Lizzie said sealing the vow. "Wow! Then by the power vested in me, which is not very much," again this drew some laughter from the crowd. "I hereby pronounce you man and wife," Joey said. The empires applauded the newly-weds. "While I have the floor," Joey said. "I wanted to share that I too have found love."
