'I knew he was cheating.' Tegan said in a shaky voice.

She was currently in a bush with Steve Rogers watching her boyfriend have lunch with another woman. Steve had taken the time between talking to Bri and meeting with Tegan to grow tabs on the so called Jack.

'I can't belive I trusted him.' Tegan said as a few tears fell from her eyes.

'Hey, it's alright. He wasn't worth it if he's giving up on a girl like you.' Steve said wiping her tears away with his thumb.

Tegan took a shaky breathe and closed her eyes.

'Can we go back now?' She said softly.

Steve looked at the broken girl in front of him and wondered if it was the right thing to let her know the truth. He took her hand and walked her back to the coffee shop.

'Coffee?' She asked tying her apron back on.

Her break was only fifteen minutes long and she spent it having her heart broken. She was about to reach for the coffee pot when Steve stopped her.

'Bri said you get off at two, a couple hours early shouldn't be a problem.' He said smiling.

She smiled at him then looked at the ground. Her boss would have a cow if he found out she left early but something compelled her to go with Steve, the handsome man she'd only just met.

'Mr Stark, I insist that the car was not necessary.' Bri said with a fake smile.

She had only spent fifteen minutes with Tony but could already feel his confidence radiating off of him. The minute she entered the restaurant he walked over and flashed his billionaire smile. He took her hand and planted a firm kiss on it and to top it all off he pulled out her chair and tucked it in.

'Miss De Mel, I just want you to understand that all of my employees are wonderfully taken care of.' He said smelling his wine.

She grabbed her own glass and downed it.

'A woman who likes to drink? Perfect.' Tony said smirking.

She subtly rolled her eyes before turning back to her chicken parmigiana. She wondered what Steve and Tegan were doing. Maybe Steve grew a pair and actually asked Tegan out sometime, if only Jack wasn't in the way.

'Now, as I was saying before, there is a level of Stark tower that you can live in for your time working with me if you would want it.' Tony droned on.

Bri got her head out of the clouds and rejoined the conversation.

'I've got a place in Brooklyn.' She said.

He raised his brows before taking another sip of wine.

'What? Don't think Fury pays the rest of us as well as you?' She asked with a slight pang of annoyance in her voice.

'For your information, I never asked for a dime for the work I do with S.H.I.E.L.D.' He said just as annoyed.

They sat in an aggravated silence until the door opened and two load figures walked in.

'Tony!' One yelled gaining his attention.

Steve and a very giggly Tegan were striding towards their table.

'Rogers, can I ask why you are interrupting my interview?' Tony asked in a dangerously low voice.

Steve smirked and pulled up two chairs.

'Sorry about that Stark, I thought Tegan here deserved a break from work for the day and I remembered you recommended this place.'

Tony gritted his teeth and moved his seat closer to Bri to make more room for the newcomers. Bri on the other hand couldn't be happier for her friends saving her interview.

'You've got yourself an excellent Agent in De Mel.' Steve said taking a bite of Bri's chicken.

'Agent?' Tony asked turning to Bri.

'Rogers thinks that because I'm buddies with Fury I'm instantly an Agent.' She explained before swatting Steve away from her food.

'Have you seen under his eye patch?' Tony asked with slight amusement in his voice.

Bri shook her head matching his amusement.

'If you get the chance, don't.' Tony whispered.

They finished their lunch and Bri thanked Tegan and Steve multiple times for showing up. Tony agreed that Bri was up to his standards and she was due to start work at Stark tower tomorrow.
