I Took It As a Taunt [Wilbur X Reader]

Morning Fog and Record Blues

     I woke up in the morning to the sound of construction. I looked at my phone to see some texts from Niki and Jack. 

Niki

Oh yeah! Wilbur is really nice, you'll like him.

Jack

Heard you moved to Brighton, how about we get lunch soon?

     Jack and I were the kind of friends to jokingly mess around with each other, we did it to the point where my chat thought we were dating. I shot down that theory real quick though. Jack never addressed the theory so it was still a joke on his channel. I thought about what happened yesterday with Wilbur and smiled a bit. I didn't think I actually had feelings for Wilbur but after yesterday, I think I developed feelings for Wilbur overnight. I wish I could just read people's minds sometimes and see what they're thinking when they looked at me. I stared at the text messages for a little bit, thinking about how to respond. I responded to Niki first.

Niki

Oh yeah! Wilbur is really nice, you'll like him.

                  Yeah he really is! Could we do a call later today?

     I didn't respond to Jack's text because there was a knock on my door. I walked over to the door to see one of my neighbors, "Hey y/n, just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Jay. Sorry for the loud sounds but I'm hanging up some shelves." Jay then left and went back to her apartment. I quickly showered and got dressed. I worked at a local record shop that sold vinyls, cds, and their players. I got hired about a week before I moved so I knew I had the job. I quickly made myself a bowl of cereal and then went to work.

     I walked up to the record shop, 'Big Joe's record Store' I walked inside and put my nametag on. From what I had been told I just had to stand behind the counter and sort out the records when people looked through them. I was the only one working that day, and I was told that Mondays were usually the slowest days of the week. Since I had nothing to do other than change the closed sign to open, I decided to watch one of Wilbur's recent streams, I just had the video play quietly over my phone speakers. Which by the way, aren't as good as you think they sound.

...

Ding

     I looked up from my phone to see Tommyinnit walk into the shop, who was then shortly followed by Wilbur. My eyes met his and he seemed to be a bit flustered, Tommy had a smug look on his face like he knew something was up and looked at Wilbur. "Is this the girl you met last night that you wouldn't stop talking abo-" Tommy was quickly silenced by Wilbur grabbing a random record and showing it to Tommy, "Look at this, Tommy. A vinyl as old as Phil." I laughed silently from behind the counter, I knew already that they acted like brothers, but wow, they're definitely brothers. Tommy looked over at me, "What's so funny?" I smiled and looked at him, "Nothing, you two are acting like brothers." Wilbur then walked off to the other side of the shop and I paused my video. "Are you guys looking for anything specific?" Tommy and Wilbur both shook their heads, "Okay, they're in alphabetical order. If you want any recommendations just call me over." They both nodded and then went back to looking around the shop.  After a few minutes Wilbur walked up to the counter, "Do you have any recommendations?" I sat up in my seat, "Well, what are you looking for?" He shrugged, "Whatever you think I'd like." I stood up and walked over to the G section of the records with Wilbur, "Well, here we have Gorillaz, I personally like their older stuff than their new ones." He looked at me, "You listen to Gorillaz?" "Oh yeah, I was practically obsessed when I first heard their music." I looked at him, "There's also some Los Campesinos records over in the corner if you want." He smiled and called Tommy over the corner I pointed at. I went back to the counter and continued watching the highlights of the Wilbur stream.

     After a while Tommy and Wilbur came up to the counter with two cds, both Los Campesinos. "Good choices, since these were just brought in, and we're friends Wilbur, I'll give you guys a discount." Wilbur looked at me, "You don't have to do that." I shook my head, "Take it as a thank you for all the content." I put the cds into the system and paid the remaining price. "I'll be waiting outside for you, Big Will." Tommy then walked outside and waited. Wilbur looked at me for a moment, "Sorry about him, he's a bit..." "Childish?" Wilbur nodded, "Oh, I wanted to ask, do you want to hang out again tonight?" I sat down, "Sure, but Niki might be joining, I'm meant to be streaming tonight so you could join me if you want." Wilbur smiled, "Sounds good, what time should I be there?" "Around 7, please." He nodded and then happily walked back outside where Tommy was. Wow, I thought, I'm going to be hanging out with Wilbur again.
