Contrary to my thoughts, my family was still in the dining room.
By the way, since it is lunch, should I call it the lunching room?
After my depressing discovery, I sat down while mourning for KFC. But of course I didn't forget to show an arrogant smile on my face because to not appear out of character.
Let's see... I was sitting on Philip's left and Ethan was on the opposite side of the table.
Hello Ethan~. Did you miss me?
My parents were seated in front of me. My father was the archetype of a duke and they had two eyes, one nose, three mouths... I'm joking, it would be creepy. Where would you even place three mouths? On the cheeks? But then how do they smile...
While I was thinking of a scene worthy of a horror movie, this description reminded me of a poem which said:
'Ah! Sea, you are all water!
Ah! Demon wolf, you have eight legs!'I swear, the one who wrote this is a genius. He is my model.
There's also 'Roses are red, violets are blue...' (Jon Caryl). Wait, so violets are blue? Not purple?
Well, let's put my questionable choices of models aside and return to the matter at hand.
Does Rose have any allergies? Because even though I'd quite enjoy accidentally dying, food-poisoning is not my favorite method.
First, it's because it's painful and annoying. Second, the first condition would actually pose no problem if others didn't always find a way to save you after you have suffered.
Show some emotional maturity and let me die in peace, man!
No that I think about it, it would be quite funny if someone actually tried to poison the beloved daughter of the duke.
Let me guess, would the culprit be Ethan? Ethan is the only one with a motive here. Well, for now...
As I stared at my plate with my peripheral vision to maintain my image, my father spoke up.
"By the way, Rose. You will soon go to the academy for the first time, are you not too anxious?"
Now that you reminded me of something that I didn't even know, of course I am anxious.
Even here, I need to go to school? I didn't sign up for this!
While cursing Mr. Stalker aka God who totally deserved at least 10 times more of these swear words, I answered.
"Nooo! I don't want to go to an academy! I want to stay with father!"
See? This behavior is my definition of 'showing some emotional maturity'. I am very mature right now, after all, Rose would have rolled on the floor.
...An action that actually seems very appealing. Unfortunately, there is nothing on the floor to stain my dress and have an excuse to throw it away, and I would be too lazy to get up afterwards so it wouldn't be worthwhile to use my precious energy for this.
See? I am mature.
As I showed off my maturity, Ethan sneered and continued to eat.
Meanwhile, Philip tried to calm me down.
"Don't worry, Rose. You will be able to see him soon."
I bit my lip.
"But... but..."
He continued in a soothing tone.
"What's wrong?"
I fiddled with my thumbs and glanced at Ethan. Father also pressed me.
