My ability to think faster has a passive mode and an active mode.

With the passive mode, I can think faster than the average person at any moment. However, when I activate it, I can change the speed at which I'm thinking.

After activating it many times, I discovered that the more I got used to thinking fast, the more I could increase the speed of my thoughts.

So, after scolding the maid, I tried activating my ability to the maximum.

Usually, merely 'thinking faster' didn't affect my perception, but now my surroundings also seemed to slow down a little. My brain was adapting the perception of my surroundings to fit in all my thoughts.

It would've been even better if my body could also move as quickly as my mind, but it was impossible as I didn't have the physical abilities to be so fast.

It would be a very OP power if we were in an action novel, should I learn martial arts?

My gaze slowly swept over everyone's faces as I observed their reactions, making it seem like I was casually turning to my parents.

Unlike his usual disdainful face, Ethan's expression was a mix rage and consternation, as if he would explode at any moment if I continued to act this way. I thought he would seem disgusted. By the way, stop clenching your fist so hard if it's not to throw it at my face.

Hmm? Don't I seem a bit too masochistic here?

Anyway, Philip ate peacefully, an unnoticeable trace of helplessness on his face. Basically, he was used to it.

As for my parents, it was even more surprising since they didn't react. They didn't even show the slightest intention of reprimanding me or disliking my action.

Wow.

Is it what being a noble is like?

I agree with Ethan, the haughty nobles here are trash.

I guess I'm trash too then?

However, this is strange.

Usually, children are similar to their parents since their habits are learnt from them. Even if she was spoiled, this shouldn't be enough for her to become violent.

Asher, to be honest, I don't really think that Rose or her brother are really sadistic serial killers.

Even though I don't remember everything, from her memory fragments, Rose acted like a spoiled and ill-mannered child and often threw tantrums, but from who did she learn to throw things like that?

It's as if a part of Rose's memories is missing...

My head suddenly started to ache.

Anyway, it should all be because of Ethan. I'm sure that's it.

I decided to push the problem aside and, after doing a quick observation, I immediately deactivated my ability as it heavily drained my mental power.

"M-my lady..."

Are you sick? Why are you so pale? I only threw my meal at you, stop overreacting.

In front of the incomprehensibly pale maid who seemed to want to justify herself, I cut off her words.

"I don't want to hear what you have to say, you're fired."

Now take a long vacation away from me and work for nicer people. I'm showing you mercy right now.

Ah, but if she really smiled after I told her she's fired, she'd seem like a masochist.

Glancing at my parents, I stood up.
