Dean looked down at his watch: it had been over 20 minutes since Alex and John were supposed to meet him at the Impala.

Cas was worrying, but he told him they were probably just distracted.

But, when an ambulance pulled in, he grabbed his boyfriend and ran up to John's dorm. Praying the ambulance wasn't for John or Alex, the two hurried down the halls.

They stopped when they saw Professor Washington's door open. Slowly walking out was Alex and John. Alex had a split lip and a bruise round his left eye. His arm was around John who looked much worse. The whole left side of his face had swelled a bit, and it was littered with cuts and bruises. Hardly recognisable though all the blood.

"What the hell happened?!" Cas called, quickly making his way over to them.

Dean noticed John's knuckles: covered in blood and badly bruised. That and the ambulance, it was easy to put two and two together. "What the heck did you do?!" He asked John.

"Crowley was right. Thomas was hunting us. He found Alex." He pointed to Alex's face. "But then I found him, and well..."

"I'm going to take him back to our dorm, get him cleaned up. Then we could rearrange the double date."

Cas nodded. He and Dean decided to go over to Angelica's to see how she was doing, and Alex and John went the opposite way to their dorm.

John had to change out of his shirt, it had blood all down it.

Pulling it over his head, he winced at the pain in his hand. He didn't need to be an expert to know it was broken. Remembering he had bandages by his bed, he unlocked the bathroom door and went to get them.

Forgetting Alex was there and that he had no shirt on, John was startled when Alex asked,

"What happened?" He gestured to the mass of scars on John's back.

He didn't really want to tell him, but also didn't want to hide anything from him. Turning to face him, he decided to tell him.

He trusted Alex.

"My hometown, when I was younger... when all the other kids found out who I am. They'd attack me - just because of who I liked."

Tears formed in his eyes as he remembered the horrible memories. Alex stepped forward, putting a hand on his shoulder. The heat from Alex's hand warming up his cold skin.

"I'm so sorry you had to endure that."

He gently placed his other hand on the less injured side of John's face. Alex pulled him close and kissed him. John flinched slightly at the pain from his cut lips, but ultimately ignored it and kissed Alex back.
