8. run run

(Jinx's Pov)

I woke up to the sound of birds chirping and the sound of my brothers voice. "Jinx?! What are you doing? Get up and get back in your room before dad finds you with that kid." I hear Dash say as I slowly am opening my eyes. I see Dash sticking his head outside my sliding door trying to save my ass. I jolted up with Matt's hands still around my waist. "Holy shit okay I'm coming" I said rubbing my eyes fast. "Matt I got to go." I said even though he couldn't hear me and I unwrapped his hand from mine and quickly, yet carefully crossed back to my porch. I slid into my bedroom with Dash smirking at me. "Soooo who's the boy and why were you sleeping with him?" He asked. "His name is Matt and he is our neighbor. When you wouldn't go out with me to get food I asked Matt because he was on his balcony and then we got food." I paused then began again. "Then when I got home I wasn't tired so I went to my balcony to find Matt in his. I didn't have anything to sit on so he invited me to his balcony so i went to his balcony and we fell asleep." I said really quickly. "Okay." Dash said. "Okay, aren't you suppose to be at work with Dad or something?" I said out of breathe. "Yeah we are leaving soon and he wanted me to come get you for breakfast." Dash replied. "Mkay lets go." I said walking out of my bedroom with Dash following behind me.

"Morning dad" I said giving him a tight hug. "Morning" he replied and hugged tightly back. I looked around to see chocolate chip waffles and banana and strawberry smoothies because my dad makes us smoothies with every breakfast. He think it helps keep our energy level up all day and indeed it does because I'm up until 4 o'clock in the morning. "Yes my favorite" I said taking a seat. "When did you go food shopping" I asked while taking two waffles onto my plate. "This morning... I wanted to make sure you would have food until we got home." He responded and sat down while sipping his smoothie not even going near the waffles. My dad is a health freak. We all ate together when my dad asked "You trying out for the soccer team?" I have been waiting for him to bring that up because I wanna tell him all about it, "Yeah of course I am." I responded. My dad smiled and we kept eating when Dash and my dad both got up saying goodbye and kissing me on the forehead. Just like that I was alone for the day in this beautiful house.
I sat silently eating my waffles thinking about going for a run so I finished my food and changed into a blue sports bra and black Nike shorts with my black nike running shoes. I half french braided my hair and grabbed my head phones. I jogged down the stairs and walked to the door. I looked at my phone and saw it was 10:00. I opened the door and it was so hot...this is gonna be great. I truthfully loved this weather. I started to jog down towards the boardwalk. When I heard a familiar voice yelling my name "JINXXXXXX!!!!" I turned and saw Matt yelling at me and waving his hands. I laughed and took my headphones out "Hey Matt" I said laughing slightly. "Where you going?" He asked. "For a run on the beach" I said like it was no big deal. His eyes popped out "Like that?!" He said frantically. "Yeah why?" I said chuckling. "Can I come with?" He asked. "I prefer to run alone but if you get ready quick enough and then catch up with me I'll just have to run with you." I said smirking. "Okay I'm going I'll catch up." he said running inside quickly. I usually loved running alone so I don't know why I even gave him the option of running with me. I was jogging now trying to keep my breath steady as I listened to a dub step remix on 8tracks. I was almost at the boardwalk when I felt his body next to mine. He was sweating like crazy and he had basketball shorts on with no shirt and some nike runs. He looked so hot. Holy shit Matt what are you doing to me? "What are you staring at..." He stopped and looked down. I stopped and asked "what?" "I don't even know your last name?" He said disappointed. "It's Shaw" I said smiling. "Oh well what are you staring at Shaw?" he said smirking. "I'm staring at you, Espinosa." I said because it was true and I'm not gonna lie. "Touché" he said and we kept running. "Wanna share your playlist with me? Mine is not helping me at all." He asked. "Yeah sure" I said and sent him the link. He put the playlist on and starting smiling. "I love this!" He said really loudly. I nodded and motioned him to keep running. We reached the beach and we jogged all around the beach for about an hour.

Once we stopped me just sat in the sand not caring about all the sand that would be stuck to our sweaty bodies. "I bet we ran a good 6 miles." I said smiling and breathing in between each word. "Wow I'm impressed." He said looking me up at down breathing heavy. "What why?" I asked. "Because girls usually can't run hardcore like that." He said. "First of all I'm not like most girls. Second of all my dad use to make me run since I was 14, but he made it enjoyable so I love it now." I said. "First of all true shit. Second of all that's cool." He said. I just smiled and put my hands over my head and laid down still not caring about the sand.

"Why'd you leave this morning without saying bye?" Matt question sadly. I sat up and said "Because my brother was yelling and me and if my dad found out he would kill me plus I didn't want to wake you." "Oh okay I'll let you slide this one time just because you're so cute." Matt said and then had quick regret in his eyes and looked down blushing. "You aren't too bad yourself Espinosa." I replied. His head shot up and he smiled. I smiled back staring into his brown eyes that had sun rays of yellow in them. I turned my head towards the ocean and then he grabbed my hand and we held hands smiling and looking at the ocean. "Let's go do something." He said lifting me up and we started walking. "Where?" I asked. "To get food duh" he said still holding my hand. "We are going to your family restaurant aren't we" I asked. "Of course" he said kissing my cheek and I turned red.
