Ferneus's feet pounded the stoned road as he continued to run farther and farther away from his love. Tears kept pouring from his eyes as he tried to see where he was going. He quickly rubbed his eyes with his now dark hands, his sight did not last long.

People stared at him as he ran past, some shouted insults and slurs, but he didn't care. His soul was an entanglement of misery, hate, and regret. His body ached with every step he took, he felt like he could collapse at any moment. Ferneus had never felt this weak before, it scared him.

He ran across the road making cars screech to a stop inches away from him, their owners yelling, which reminded him of himself and Donna. A new ocean of tears poured from his eyes as he ran blindly onwards.

He eventually stopped outside a cramped crooked store with an old rusty sign. He forced the door open making the bell ting ferociously. A small lady jumped at this sudden burst which made her fall off her chair. Once she got up she stared at him worriedly.

"Are you alright sir? You look a little worse for wear."

Without answering Ferneus walked over to her and quickly turned back into himself. This made her eyes open wide as she just stared at him shocked. His horns scraped the roof as he bent down to look at her, placing his long cold fingers on the desk.

"Please," He whispered, his face contorted in sorrow, tears still flowing from his eyes, "Help me."

She stared at him for a few more seconds before coming around to him and grabbing his hand. He let her lead him upstairs as he trailed behind pitilessly. She sat him in a chair as she sat across from him horizontally in the very seat Donna sat in not so long ago.

"So," She said simply, "What happened Ferneus?"

"You know my name?" He asked surprised yet not.

"Donna told me." She replied, this made Ferneus's tears fall again. She looked over at him sadly as she asked,

"Did something happen between you and Donna?"

"I thought it would be fine!" Ferneus exclaimed suddenly, "I thought it wouldn't be a problem! I thought I wouldn't have to tell her, to not let her know the horrible truth! But she wanted to kiss me so bad, and she wanted to know why I couldn't! I can't let her kiss me! I can't let her turn into a demon! She doesn't deserve that fate! If things were different then I'd kiss her everyday, every time I'd see her. Doesn't she understand I want to kiss her too? Doesn't she understand that I also crave to love her more? But I can't, I can't ruin her. Miss Farrington, what do I do?"

"So if you kiss her she'll turn into a demon, huh?" She asked slowly, Ferneus nodded sadly. "Welp there's no solving this problem without some tea, I'll be right back." And with that she dissapeared down the stairs leaving Ferneus alone, it reminded him of how he left Donna. He cried even more as he just sat there alone and scared.

"Here ya go." Miss Farrington said a few minutes later, extending a cup of tea to him. He stared at it for a second before gently taking it. She then sat down again, sipping her tea thoughtfully. Ferneus stared at his more, feeling the cup warm his hands. He sighed as he resigned to just holding the thing, he couldn't drink it.

"It seems to me you're in quite a predicimate here," Miss Farrington commented absently, Ferneus eyed her. "This is pretty serious, and you asked me for help?"

"You were the only one I could turn to, I just don't know what to do... I'm lost." Ferneus confessed, tightening his grip on the tea.

"Mm I see, there's not a lot of places a demon can go to in a time of need. Seems pretty unfair to me I'd say, but why are you so panicked? I mean I don't mean to be rude but you're a demon! An otherworldly being of emmense power, and here you are coming to me for help while crying your eyes out. I practically had to drag you up the stairs!" Miss Farrington put in, Ferneus sighed deeply.
