After the brothers took ten minutes to calm down they sat on the couches again.
"Well are we going to open these or not?" Damon says pointing at the gifts.
The girls faces all light up in excitement and nod bouncing in their seat.
"We'll go on then." Stefan says in encouragement.
That's all he needed to say and the girls rushed over to the tables gathering their labelled gifts.
"They look like little kids on Christmas." Alaric whispered to the brothers who both nod in amusement.
After getting their gifts the girls all sat down on the floor together. They each looked at each other and seemed to have a conversation with their eyes while the boys watched them confused. After a few minutes the girls nodded at each other and faced them.
"Since we are opening dresses for the ball we want to do it girls only in the room." Caroline says.
The boys looked at them with raised eyebrows.
"Why?" Alaric asked.
"So we can surprise you tomorrow obviously." Elena said like it was obvious already.
"Men. They know nothing about girls." Bonnie said rolling her eyes and the other two girls nod in agreement.
"Alright, Alright calm down we're leaving." Damon said holding his hands up in surrender.
"We could have a drink in the kitchen while we wait for them I guess?" Alaric suggested shrugging his shoulders getting nods of agreements from the brothers.
As the boys left the girls played Rock, Paper, Scissors to see who opens when. Caroline won, then Bonnie and then Elena.
Caroline squealed excitedly as she started unwrapping. The other two watch with smiles as she opens the box.
Caroline gasps when she finished opening the box.
"Well what is it?" Elena asks in anticipation.
Caroline stands up letting the dress unfold in front of her.

"Oh my god it's beautiful." Bonnie gasp in awe.
"The blue really brings out your eyes too." Elena gushes and Caroline nods with a massive smile on her face.
"The other one must be the long dress she mentioned." Bonnie says and Elena nods.
Caroline quickly put the dress back in the box neatly and unwrapped the next one. Her mouth drops open and she just stares when she sees it.
"Caroline, you ok there?" Bonnie asks and she nods numbly with a wide smile as she holds up the dress.
