George woke up to someone lightly rubbing his back, as he fluttered his eyes open and rolled around in bed. Staring down at him with his hand still gently caressing George's back was Dream, his eyes sleepy but his mouth upturned in a dreamy smile.

Goosebumps shot up and down George's arms seeing Dream yet again with his sleepy, messy hair. It was George's favorite version of Dream: Dream's quiet morning aura, with his slow movements and his gentle, patient way of speaking.

"Hi." George said, clearing his sore throat from the dry hotel air.

"You knocked out last night as soon as we got to the new hotel room." Dream said.

Dream snuck his hand underneath the top of George's t-shirt, tracing his fingers along George's collarbone and upper chest.

"Yeah...I was really tired." George replied, happily stuck under Dream's touch. "What time is it?"

"Uhh..." Dream took his hand away from George, leaning to the left of the bed to check the clock on the nightstand. "6:31. I figured I'd wake you up early so you had enough time to get ready for school."

"Sch-wait what's the date today?" George asked, sitting up in bed.

"Theee...20th?" Dream responded.

"Oh, I don't have school until January 2nd. It's Christmas Break." George said, smiling in excitement as he just remembered this now.

"Wow, that's a long break." Dream said, scooching on the bed to face George.

George nodded in agreement, relaxing his shoulders and back into the pillow that was up against the headboard.

Dream didn't seem content, though. All of the sudden he seemed tense, his body oddly still and his eyes zoned out on something random in the distance.

"I...I got a call earlier this morning. Not long ago." Dream said, his voice lowered on purpose.

"Okay..." George said cautiously.

Dream looked at George then unknowingly started twiddling with his fingers in his lap.

"The restraining order against my mom was finalized." Dream said, shrugging.

"Oh." George said, not sure if that was good news or bad news. "Are you happy with that?"

Dream nodded yes several times.

"Y-yeah. It'll be good for us. I shouldn't be near her...I don't want to be near her." Dream said.

George nodded in understanding, reaching forward for Dream's hand to hold in his own.
