George hadn't heard from Dream since the day after Christmas. He was trying not to think too much of it, because he knew Dream hadn't seen his dad in months and he needed that quality time with his dad.

But it was now New Year's Eve, and George was driving by himself on the way to Alex's NYE party where a bunch of his friends were going to be. He was supposed to drive with Tyler, until he got a text from an unknown number an hour before the party.

"Hey, is this George?"

George

7:04 pm

"who's this??"

Text Message From: Unknown Number

7:04 pm

"Sorry, it's Tyler haha"

George

7:05 pm

"oh sorry i don't have your new number. what's up?"

'Tyler Joseph Quinn' George typed out on his phone, adding Tyler to his contacts. Then he looked at the name- Tyler's full name. It sounded so formal, so unattached. George changed it to 'Tylerrrr', then thought that looked wrong too, so he ended up settling on just 'Tyler'.

Tyler

7:05 pm

"Hah ur all good. Just letting you know I don't need a ride to Alex's. He came to my hotel and picked me up earlier today so I'm already here. You on your way soon?"

George really didn't want to go to this party. When normally he was pretty social and loved being around his friends, he felt off tonight.

Maybe it was the fact that there would be a house full of people, most he knew but some he didn't know, and they were all going to drool over Tyler's Irish accent and his adventurous personality. And they were going to steal him away from George. George didn't want that to happen: after all, he was friends with Tyler first.

In all seriousness, though, it was probably that it had been almost five whole days since Dream had spoken to him. Not that George was spamming Dream with texts, because he wasn't. George would never be the type of boyfriend to stalk his man's location, or spam him with texts and calls- not at all.

Yet George still couldn't help but wonder what Dream was doing- what his dad was like, the restaurants he and his family ate at, what the spare bedroom in his stepmom's house looked like. Things that George wished Dream would be more open about.
