"And the sex is good. Like...really good." George lowered his voice. "Which is weird because normally slow, romantic fucking doesn't get me off."
"So what's the deal? Friends...more than friends? Fuck buddies? Happily married?" Karl joked, cleaning up around his house as he FaceTimed George.
George shrugged on the other end of the call.
"He used the term boyfriend the other day when he introduced me to one of his friends..." George said.
George tucked his free hand that wasn't holding his phone into his jacket pocket, keeping it hidden from the biting cold. George sighed, his warm breath visible in contrast with the frigid air.
"Why don't you sound happy about that? You don't wanna be his boyfriend...?" Karl asked, confused.
George watched Karl over FaceTime as Karl picked up dirty clothes off his floor, tossing them into a laundry basket across the room.
I should probably clean up Dream's room a little bit, too. It's been a few days since I've helped him clean. George thought.
"I like Dream. I really do. It's just..." George stopped in the middle of his sentence- he didn't know how to word what he was feeling to Karl.
"You can't commit. Again." Karl stated, glaring at George through the phone.
"I can commit and I am committing. But it's just...he takes things so seriously. He made us go on a whole day full of dates, which is cute and all I guess, but is that really what couples do?" George asked.
Karl said nothing, but gave George an 'I can't believe you right now' stare.
"Look, I like him, and that's all that matters. He's good to me. He's good for me." George said.
"Whatever makes you happy, man. By the way, are you still coming to the New Year's party at Alex's on Friday?" Karl asked.
"Shit, I almost forgot about that...Yeah, I'll be there. Does he need me to bring anything?" George asked.
"Ehh, maybe just some chips or something. Dream's invited to come as well. Are you gonna bring him??" Karl asked enthusiastically.
"Probably. I don't want him to be alone on New Year's Eve." George responded.
Karl scoffed. "That's your only reason for bringing him?? Come onnn, we're all dying to hang out with him!"
