Mafuyu's POV:
Who knew life could get worse? I've only been asked of things, never been received anything.
"Hey Asahina-san, can you help me with my homework?"
"Oh, of course!"
This is the third time this week you've asked. Do it yourself. It's simple enough.
"Mafuyu, what's the answer for number 5 again?"
"I believe it was -34."
You don't deserve to use my first name. Stop nagging me. I'm too tired.
It's a recurring theme for me. I don't think this cycle will end anytime soon. I just want someone to care for me. Do something for me. Is that too selfish? Maybe, but I'm desperate at this point. School is becoming a chore. It was something I enjoyed, since I was very skilled in every subject, but now that's all I'm known for. I'm the answer girl. Maybe if I was just a nobody, they wouldn't ask anymore. I'd be free to do work on my own. They could have their own grade instead of mine.
I snapped back into reality. Sitting at my school desk, working on a mid-module test. The time was irrelevant to me. No matter how many breaks I took, I knew I'd finish in time. It's what mother wanted. I was trained for this.
I wrote down everything for the last question, then flipping my paper over for a quick check. i took the paper in my hands. As I walked to the front to turn it in, a girl tugged on my sleeve. As I glanced at her, she looked familiar, but I couldn't make out a name. I'm guessing she was one of the girls that had asked for answers.
She picked up her paper and point to question 8. y=(x+2)²−4 is what it read. She tilted her head to the side, showing me she was confused. I decided I was done with everyone. You'll have to figure it out yourself, just like I did. I turned my head and walked towards the teacher desk. I placed my paper on the desk and looked up at my teacher. She has that warm smile she always had, knowing I was always the first one to turn in their test and still having the right answers. When I turned to walk back, the girl I had ignored was staring right at me. She stared at me with a glare that could kill me in an instant. I walked back to my desk, feeling an empty pit in my stomach.
After we were done, I packed up my stuff as quick as possible. The last thing I wanted was for that girl to confront me about not helping. Why did she need my help anyway? She should have learned it like the rest of us. When the bell rang, I speed walked out of the classroom, looking down to avoid talking or even looking at anyone. I made by way to the entrance, since it was the end of the day. I finally got outside past the crowd. I decided I'd walk home from school today.
Bad decision.
Of course it was Friday. That means a ton of people going out into town because the weekend was just around the corner. The more people, the more crowds there are. I tried to block out all the noise by covering my ears, but my head was just too crowded with thoughts that wouldn't leave. When I turned the corner, I saw a familiar face. As I approached closer, I realized it was two familiar faces. Ena and Mizuki. I guess I got to their peripheral visions, because they eventually looked to me and Mizuki waved. Ena stayed still and gave a small but noticeable smile. Mizuki was the first to run over.
