we sit down at one of the elegant wooden tables and everybody starts to look at me.
"so Evelyn.." Mrs. Culligan starts. "what was your life like before all of this happened? and please be honest honey."
ouch. that's a hard one.
"I don't know... I was bullied in school because of my clothes, hint hint David, and everybody basically rejected me."
everybody just nodded, and it was almost like they understood my life perfectly.
Mrs. Culligan sat up and, to my relief, said that "Evelyn probably is sick of talking about her old life. let her ask you some questions!" and with that statement, she walked out of the room, leaving us alone.
"she's right. almost all of us know what it's like to be bullied and rejected. what questions do you have?" asked Hannah.
well... they asked for it. " Why me, first of all. why me instead of like, the president's daughter or something? I'm just Evelyn. and what really happened to my parents? why don't you want anyone here not to see me? how is Dreams functioning without a ruler? Are there people who might kill me if I become ruler? do I get to sword fight? will I have to learn how to use a gun? WHY IS THE FAIRIE LICKING MY HEAD? And Lastly, what are all of your powers?"
