CHAPTER 23 - Malta Airport
The plane touches down in Malta. A limousine awaits Diana at the bottom of the plane. Diana steps off the plane and is about to descend the steps when she turns around and rushes to give Katya a hug. "Thank you Katya."
A warm smile on her face, Katya replies, "My pleasure, Ms Yeo. Please have a wonderful trip."
The driver of the limousine opens the door for Diana to enter.
CHAPTER 24 - Driving around Malta in the limo
Diana is experimenting with all the buttons within arms reach in the limousine. Each button is a new revelation to her. She presses a button to roll the windows down, to which she sticks her head out to marvel at the wonderful sights of the city.
Suddenly, she hears a horn coming from behind her. She turns her extended head around, only to see a motorbike heading straight towards her. She quickly retreats back into the limousine, heart pounding from the almost beheading.
Over the intercom, the driver worriedly asks her, "Ma'am, are you alright?"
"Ummmm, yes," Diana replies, heart still pounding.
Diana leans her head against the window, not daring to stick her head out of the window again.
CHAPTER 25 - Hotel (Imagine a super grand hotel)
The limousine pulls up to a grand and opulent hotel. A stately gentlemen opens the door to the limo for Diana. She steps out of the limo where the hotel manager, Sandra, awaits her at the top of the stairs.
"Welcome to Grand Royale Malta. My name is Sandra, and I am the manager of this hotel. Please allow me to escort you to your room."
"Ummmm, thanks, but don't I need to check in or something?" Diana asks.
"The check-in has been taken care off already. Please follow me."
A bellhop proceeds to unload Diana's one luggage from the limo.
Sandra and Diana walk through the hotel lobby. Diana is silent, her eyes looking everywhere, marvelling at the opulence. Sandra ushers Diana to a lift. Sandra presses the lift button for the highest floor. Diana is silent, her eyes looking everywhere.
As they exit the lift they walk along a corridor. Sandra pauses in front of an ornate door and swipes the key card over the reader. Sandra opens the door and ushers Diana into the room.
"Welcome to the penthouse suite, Ms Yeo. Here are your room key cards. Your bags will be delivered shortly. Do not hesitate to call me, should you need anything. Please enjoy your stay at Grand Royale Malta."
Sandra exits the room, closing the door behind her, not giving Diana enough time to reply.
Diana turns around and scans the suite slowly. She slowly walks over to the big open windows and looks out at the view in front of her. The view of the city of Malta and the crystal clear waters before her.
As Diana is marvelling at the beauty in front of her, the doorbell rings. Diana quickly runs to open the door. A bellhop enters, carrying Diana's one luggage.
"Where would you like this bag, ma'am?" he asks.
"You can leave it on the table." The bellhop places the bag on the table pointed out by Diana. He stands there expectantly. It takes a few moments for Diana to get the drift.
"Oh, right. Hold on for a sec." Diana goes to her purse and retrieve her wallet. She opens it, only to find several 1 dollar notes in her wallet. She nervously offers the bellhop, 10 dollars, the full amount of money in her wallet. The bellhop looks at the money with a brief pause, before accepting it, "Thank you, ma'am. Is there anything else I can help you with?"
"Nope, nothing."
The bellhop nods and exits the room, closing the door behind him.
Diana looks around the suite, and squeals loudly from excitement. She runs to every room in the suite, opening and closing cabinets, fridges, etc.
(DIANA FLOPS ON BED, JUMPS ON THE BED, TAKES A SHOWER (THE ONE WITH THE MULTI-SHOWER HEADS AND IS STARTLED BY IT), TAKES A BUBBLE BATH, ETC.)
Diana is in the bath when she hears the doorbell to her hotel suite ring. "Hold on! I'm coming."
She quickly gets up from the bath, albeit clumsily and races for the door.
She opens the door to the hotel concierge standing outside the suite, balancing a silver tray, with an envelope on it.
"Good evening, Ms Yeo. There is a delivery for you," the concierge says. The concierge presents the tray to Diana with white, gloved hands.
Diana is about to take the tray, but the concierge stops her, "Just the envelope, Ms Yeo."
"Oh, right, sorry. Thank you."
The concierge retreats and Diana closes the door behind her. She takes a peek inside the envelope and is stunned for a moment, before quickly opening the door to her suite and running out of her suite, calling for the concierge, who was already in the descending lift.
Diana catches a reflection of herself in the lifts closed door, and discovers that she is only dressed in a towel. She quickly runs back into her suite.
Closing the door behind her, Diana leans back against it, her mind whirring. She takes another peek into the envelope, still in disbelief, checking it again and again. We finally see the large stack of bills in the envelope.
"What in the world is happening right now?" Diana wonders.
