CHAPTER 7 - School Cafeteria
Teachers and students are dining in the busy and noisy school cafeteria. Tyson is sitting with his group of friends. HIs group are telling jokes, ribbing each other. Tyson occasionally glances away from his friends to look on at Diana, who is enjoying the company of her teaching colleagues at the other end of the cafeteria.
Lewis, one of Tyson's friend, notices Tyson's distraction. Lewis nudges another friend sitting with them.
"Poor Coco, she doesn't know her beloved Tyson prefers them old," he jokes, loud enough for Tyson to hear. Tyson who was half listening to the group at that time, stills. He slowly turns to Lewis.
"What did you say," Tyson asks, lowly, with a hint of warning.
"Why, hanging out with old people made you loose your hearing as well? I said, you must prefer them old, their loose pussy and all," Lewis continues, unaware of the rising anger from Tyson.
Tyson takes a swing at Lewis and a fight breaks our between the two. A crowd of students gather around them, cheering them on, chanting 'Fight! Fight! Fight!"
Mobile phones are whipped out as the start taking videos of the fight.
Diana and a few of the teachers rush in, pushing their way to the center of the group, to where the fight is. Some of the teachers are trying to push the students away from the fight.
"STOP!" Diana commands.
Just as Lewis is about to land a punch on Tyson, Diana stands in between the 2 fighters. The punch, instead lands on Diana, who cries out and falls.
A hush falls on everyone in the canteen. Tyson quickly goes to check on Diana. "Are you alright?" he asks worriedly.
Tyson sees Diana's mouth, bloodied. This causes him to see red. Tyson launches himself at Lewis, who had stood still in shock. Tyson whales on his friend, till the other teachers manage to grab onto Tyson and haul him back.
One of the teachers who was struggling to hold onto Tyson says, "Stop it, son. It's over. Stop struggling."
Lewis is lying on the ground, unconscious, bruised and bloodied.
CHAPTER 8 - Principal's Office
Mr Toh is sitting behind his desk. Tyson is sitting on a small and uncomfortable chair, defiant in his behavior, even though his clothes are ripped, his face bruised, his gaze trained on Mr Toh, calmly. This irritates Mr Toh, but he tries not to show it.
"Son, you want to tell me what the fight was all about," Mr Toh asks.
Tyson remains silent, still looking at Mr Toh.
"Did it have something to do with Mrs Wong?" Mr Toh continues. Tyson still remains silent. "I can't help you son, if you won't talk."
Tyson is still silent.
"Look, fortunately for you, your friend is not in any serious condition. However, Lewis's parents are considering filing charges against you. We've also notified your parents of the situation."
Tyson scoffs at this, but continues to remain silent.
Mr Toh continues. "Also, the school takes a hard stance against fighting and for this, you would be expelled from this school, effective immediately."
Mr Toh waits for Tyson's reaction or reply, but he does not get the response he wants.
Tyson finally replies. "Is that all?"
Mr Toh takes a moment, but eventually shakes his head. Tyson gets up from the chair and leaves the office.
CHAPTER 9 - Nurse's Office
Diana is sitting on a nurse's bed, the school nurse, administering ointment onto Diana's cut lip. Tyson enters the nurse's office. He looks at the nurse.
"Leave!" Tyson orders the nurse.
The nurse, shocked, exclaims, "Excuse me?! How dare you order me around."
Tyson repeats himself, "Leave!"
The nurse sputters, at a loss for words. Diana quickly jumps in, trying to lessen the tension. "I'm sorry Nurse Liu. Would you give us some privacy? Please?"
"This is not right. It goes against school protocol. He is dangerous. Look what he did to his friend," the nurse continues.
"I'll be fine," Diana interrupts, "Could you please give us a moment?"
The nurse leaves the room. Tyson makes sure that the nurse is gone from the room, closing the door to the office, before he walks up to Diana, who is still seated on the nurse's bed.
He carefully clutches her chin and turns her face, so he can see the extent of her injuries. His jaw clenches. Diana gently removes his hand from her face.
Tell me what happened? Why did the fight even start in the first place?" Diana asks.
Tyson ignores her as he is lost in his own thoughts. He mumbles to himself, "I should have killed him. I should have ended him...."
Diana snaps him out of his own thoughts by slapping him hard across the face. This breaks Tyson out of his thoughts.
Tyson looks at Diana, anguish and rage in his eyes, "He insulted you. He had no right to insult you. I had to protect you. I HAVE to protect you."
Diana is shocked. "What right did you even have to do that? Your friend is in hospital because of some silly insults!" Diana exclaims.
"I have every right to protect the person that I love. YOU" Tyson declares.
Diana is stunned, but before she could reply, police officers enter the room to take him away with Mr Toh and the nurse entering the room behind the officers to stay by Diana's side, who is still in shock.
The nurse is trying to comfort Diana. "There, there. He won't hurt you anymore," the nurse coos to Diana.
CHAPTER 10 - School Hallway
The officers are leading Tyson out of the school building, when the doors open and Eddie enters.
"Where is my wife?" Eddie loudly demands.
Tyson and Eddie lock eyes for a moment, before Eddie's glance is caught by the sight of his wife, standing at the end of the corridor.
Tyson turns his head to see what has caught Eddie's eyes. Tyson and Diana lock eyes, before the officers forcibly escort Tyson out of the school building, the doors slamming shut behind them.
