Baxter was in his lab, deep in thought. He was thinking about Alastor, the deer demon he had feelings for. Baxter had been admiring Alastor from a distance for some time, but he had no idea if his feelings were reciprocated. They barely even talked, and Alastor seemed to not even notice his existence. Baxter knew that there was no way Alastor felt the same for him, and he was starting to accept that. But then, Baxter had a thought. He was a scientist, and he had the ability to create a love chemical. This chemical could make Alastor fall in love with him, and Baxter could finally get the love he had been longing for. But Baxter felt conflicted. He didn't want to use a chemical to make someone love him. He wanted it to be real, and he wanted Alastor to love him of his own free will.
In the end, Baxter decided against using the love chemical. He wanted Alastor to love him for who he was, and not because of a chemical. Baxter was still unsure if Alastor liked him back, but he was content with his decision. He was going to take his chances and let fate decide what happened between him and Alastor.
*The next Day*
Baxter was looking at the door that led to Alastor's room, a bundle of nerves. He had placed a small box and a long love note he had written down in front of the door. Taking a deep breath, he knocked on the door before quickly running back to his lab, unsure of how Alastor would respond to his request to be in a relationship.
Unable to focus on his work, Baxter decided to take a seat in the corner and think. He was terrified of the idea of Alastor laughing in his face about the proposal. Time seemed to stand still as he waited for a response.
Finally, he heard a knock on the door. Bracing himself for the worst, Baxter opened the door to see Alastor standing there. He was expecting to be met with humiliation, but instead, he was picked up and hugged tightly. "Of course I love the thought of being yours!~" Baxter was relieved to find that his worries had been unfounded. He was filled with joy and happiness, and all of his anxiety melted away in that moment.
