After leaving the mountain, muttering to yourself about what a dumbass Wukong was, you couldn't help but soften up a bit. You were never meant to be a harsh and unforgiving person. And hey, Sun wasn't that bad at all. Yea, except for him trapping you for years. You now fixed the silky fabric around your arms and pulled your sleeves further down your wrist. Where were you going to head to now?
"Slow and steady Mk, take deep breaths and focus." Monkie King reminded Mk as they trained together. But Mk was pretty much distracted by what Sun had said earlier. He paused, again. "Wait, Monkie King, you said you sealed y/n as a favor for someone who cared about her. Who?" He was curious, but Sun was suddenly back to eating his peaches. "Hmm? Oh, no one important." he avoided the question, stuffing another one of his favorite fruits into his mouth and chewing loudly. Rolling his eyes, Mk went back to twirling his staff. He was used to Monkie king avoiding certain questions.
Y/n was now back in the city, although it all seemed loud and noisy. You preferred more quiet places, but it was alright, it was interesting to see all the people bustle about and going their own ways. You now decided to go find a boba cafe and get yourself some boba. You now wondered why you were in such a mood for boba.
Ah, a memory popped up.
"Look! I got us some boba!" You sat down next to the monkey that was leaning against a willow, looking out over the mountains. "Where did you even manage to get some?" he chuckled, taking the drink from you. "Aha, well you see, I suppose I didn't get ittt, I made it. Please tell me it doesn't suck." You sat down next to him, the wind blowing some of your hair into his face. He moved to push your hair behind your ear. "I'm sure it's as sweet as those lips of yours." He grinned and watched your face change color. "Oh! Quit being such a tease." You replied, pushing the straw of his drink into his mouth. He took a sip and nodded. "I was correct. But you know, I somehow forgot how sweet they are, so how could I compare perfectly? How about letting me try?" You swatted your hand at him, not noticing the other orange-haired monkey that had walked up to the two. "Oh, is now a bad time?" He casually asked, but you noticed a change in his eyes as he saw the monkey so close to you. He looked up and frowned slightly. "Ah, Sun." That was all he had to say, before the monkey waved farewell to you and turned back to leave. You watched him leave carefully. Why was he so reserved?
Now, that boba cafe. Where was it? Ah, finally you found it, and stepping inside almost fell over from bumping into someone. "Oh! I'm sorry!" A bubbly voice rang out as a girl with green highlights in her hair held the door open. "No no, it's quite alright." You replied, taking in the girl's appearance. "Are you by any chance part of the Dragon of the West Clan?" The question had slipped out before you stopped to think. She seemed taken back but quickly nodded. "Yea, why'd you ask?" You shrugged, "you reminded me of someone, that's all." Answering quickly before busying yourself with the menu. There were so many flavors to choose from! After a few minutes, you ordered yourself a small milk tea. After receiving your order you stepped back outside. The city was still bustling about and now you spotted Mk's delivery bike at the end of the street. You waved, trying to get his attention. He soon noticed you and waved back, a grin on his face. " hey y/n! Ohh, Did you get boba? Nice!" he exclaimed. He ran a hand through his messy hair. "Phew, training with Monkie king sure is tiring! By the way, what happened back there?" He asked, wanting more of why you had lost your cool when you saw Monkie king. Before he had left though, Monkie king had stopped him.
"Mk. Before you leave, I wanted to tell you, don't mention anything about what I told you to y/n. All I said stays with you and me." He set him with a hard stare, and Mk nodded.
"Ah, I supposed we had our own unresolved issues." You chuckled, twirling a strand of hair as you sipped your boba. You then quieted down as Mk began to talk about his day, glad he had a new friend. His lively banter was interrupted when the girl that you had bumped into earlier suddenly came running to him. "Mk!!!! Monsterrrrr!" She screamed, waving her sword at the sky in a fast manner. Your head turned, and stared at the dark purple monster floating on top of the sky. Bandages seemed to hold it together and you thought you recognized it for a second. But from where? Your memory almost seemed fuzzy, you had been surprised even when the first memory of you sharing boba with someone. Now, as Mk and the Dragon girl began to run towards it, you followed, your staff appearing in your hand. Mk had jumped recklessly towards it, only to be grabbed and thrown back to the ground. You grimaced. That had to hurt. But that had attracted the attention of the monster as it now turned your way. It seemed to stare into your soul, as if it knew you. For a second you couldn't move, but then decided to take action. Floating up into the air you spun your staff around the top of your head and blasted a blow of pink fire towards the shadowy monster. It let out a screech, before turning into nothing but dark mist.
