Khalilah P.O.V
Sunlight creaks into my room waking me up, the curtains were raised already. It felt like my body had been beaten up, I hurt all over. I stretched and yawn loudly, today is the day Olive and I are going to pick my wedding dress and I have been looking forward to it because I plan to escape once we're outside. Just when I was about to hop off the bed, Malia and her squad of maids came in. 'Good morning your grace.' They all courtesies, I almost forgot about them. 'His majesty expect you in an hour, we need you to prepare.' I rolled my eyes, I had barely woken up and the son of a bitch is already giving me orders? Stay calm, stay calm Khalilah, it wouldn't do you any good if you get yourself killed.
I did as I was told, it's embarrassing to be bathed by women in your peers, it's even worst when the older women were touching me everywhere because I'm the "king's property." I must be clean and appalling to the King at all time.
'Do I have to wear this? I want to wear something not too tight.' I explained, the dress looks so uncomfortable, it would be difficult to move in such tight dress... it's not like I can walk properly already.
'Yes, my lady. You have to wear this.''Why?' I asked with a raised brow.
'His majesty personally handpicked this dress.' That jerk did what? Now he decides what I wear and stuff? 'What else did he pick? My panties?'
I don't think I should freak out here, in some hours I would be free. I'll find a way to escape during this outing, that way I wouldn't have to put up with his bullshit anymore. I let them dress me up, Malia supported me as my legs isn't still strong enough to walk properly; they escorted me towards the entrance of this magnificent palace, to where a black limousine was parked.
Some men dressed in black where on standby around the car, Olive was probably in the car, and I presume these guys are his bodyguard... as if the jerk isn't menacing enough. 'You should hold the door for her!' Malia raised her voice, this time she wasn't supporting me anymore, she was in an argument with one of this bodyguard. 'She's our future queen!' She yells and i think that "she" is referring to me.
'She's a human, someone lowlier than our cattle.' The man deadpanned, what the actual fuck?
'How dare you talk about her highness like that!' Malia argues, her eyes shooting spears at him , then I stepped up to them. 'What seems to be the problem?' I asked and this scary huge man, glared at me. 'Shut up!' He ordered I wasn't only scared of his authoritative voice, I was also shocked at the audacity he had. I guess Olive is all bark and no bite. 'Don't you dare talk about her highness that way!' Malia sounds like a bestie trying to ward the bullies off her friend, she looks ready to pounce on him, baring her fangs and hissing irritatingly. Damn this vampires to hell!
'I will never acknowledge her, even if she becomes the queen. All she is and will continue to be is a dirty human. I will never get the door for the likes of her!' He yelled then I was offended, they say the word human like it's a sin and I don't understand why my specie is so hated among these beasts. 'I don't want the likes of you to get the door for me either!' I retorted as I proceed to the door angrily. I reached for the door and I felt something cold grab my wrists, it was a much bigger and stronger hand. Holding my hands with so much pressure I felt it would snap and all I feel from this touch is a burning rage.
'No queen of mine will ever get the door herself.' I was so surprised to see Olive, I thought he was in the car already.'Y-your majesty.' The once fierce looking body guard is was now cowering in fear and was overwhelmed by anxiety. Why was he so scared? Olive's grip tightened as he stepped in front of me, towards the guards. 'Do you have any idea, what you have done?'
'I...I was.... s-she is a-a-a human.'
'You have disrespected me, I don't care whatever opinions you have about my queen. You have gone too far Elliot and you will pay.' His tone is even more scary than usual, so much that even I started getting scared for the rude guard. 'Forgive me your Majesty!' This once tough guy was visibly shaking, I feel sorry for him. Now he better start looking for another job because he's about to get fired. I heard a sudden crack of bones and reddish liquid spurred on my face; my eyes widen at the shock, it happened so fast and so suddenly... I didn't even see him move. 'If you are going to apologize you should prostrate yourself, don't you think?' Olive muttered, I look over to his blooded hand, and the body of the guard jerking on the ground. It seems Olive had crushed his throat with his bare hand, my small brain unable to process it, I screamed at the sight of the gore.
I have never seen someone bleed this much before, this man is definitely dying. 'Anyone else has something to say?' He asked into the overwhelmingly silent atmosphere, I desperately tried to break free from his grip on my hands and he glared at me with those same cold eyes. That was when I realized I don't want to make a mistake, my heart rate had increased drastically and my whole body was trembling. He opened the door himself and ushered me in, my whole being shaken from fear I got in as fast as I could, my terror increased when he got in with me, still holding my hands.
Soon enough we were alone and the car began to move, I can't stop thinking about what happened earlier. Was it my fault? That man died because of me? Tears welling in my eyes, I tried to pull my hand away from him but he held on even tighter. 'Let go of me!' I yelped when he squeezed me more, he glanced at me with the same cold expressionless face. 'Don't tell me you're about to cry?' He asked me with disgust clearly evident in his voice and he finally released my hand. I scamper away from him creating as much space as possible in between us.
'Why? I asked 'why did you kill that man?''What do you mean why? I did it for you.' He replied casually, as expected of him, no remorse nothing. 'Do you have any idea how important someone's life is?' Why would you do that for me? I never asked you for such a thing!' I was crying now. 'He has a family too.... what about them?'
'He disrespected you, are you sure you want to say this much over someone who sees you as nothing but trash?' He brought out an handkerchief and took his time to wipe the man's blood from his fingers. 'It's not as if you don't consider me as trash, how are you better from him?' I didn't know where the courage came from but I was literally arguing with a psychotic killer, who crushed a man's throat without even batting an eye. 'Look, you're starting to annoy me Khalilah. I don't know what I might do to you if you keep this up.' I swallowed down, I know what this means. "Shut the hell up or else I'd do it for you". Tears streams down my face, the mans blood was still on my face and on some part of my dress. I was scared to touch it, that man may have spoken to me rudely but it's not something worth dying for...why? I can't mess up my plan today, I need to escape. 'The sounds of your sniveling brings me so much discomfort, why the hell are you crying?' He sounded so irritated, I can see him tightening his fist as if he is trying to control himself. 'When will you kill me as well?' I can't help but ask curiously, if my tears could put him in a situation whereby he's forced to stop himself from hurting me. 'Um... so that's what's bothering you?'
'You're supposed to be with me for as long as I live as my wife, but if you keep this up I'm afraid you won't last too long.' He then suddenly shifted towards me until there was no where else for me to go, my heart hammering painfully in my chest.
What does he want? Does he want blood? Someone please help me.
