Bit of a drabble for some of my ocs

Tobias looked up from his computer as Aaron came into the apartment. He noticed their messy hair and turned off the computer.

"What," Aaron asked.

"When's the last time you had a haircut," He said.

"I- what- it's not that bad," Aaron said defensively.

"Sit down," Tobias pulled out a chair for him to sit in and went into his stuff to grab a dagger and scissors.

"Why are we doing this," Aaron had sat down anyway.

"Cause I can't just let you go out looking like a mess," He said, snipping the air a few times. "No one wants a scruffy server. How short do you want it?"

"Longer than yours, if you give me a bowler cut I'm never trusting you with my hair again." Aaron chuckled.

"You doubt my abilities to use a blade," Tobias smiled as he moved to stand behind the chair and started cleaning up Aaron's hair. "Just relax and stay still."

Aaron let out a breath and let themself relax as Tobias cut off split ends, bits of blond hair that stuck out where they shouldn't, brushing through the hair with his hands. They drew in a sharp breath as the cold blade brushed along the back of his neck to cut off a large chunk in the back.

Tobias moved to stand in front of them, using the scissors to cut off a bit more on the sides. He used a hand to move hair out of Aaron's eyes. The two caught their breath, locking eyes for a moment before Aaron blinked and Tobias muttered again about relaxing. He took a bit longer to focus on evening out their hair before taking a comb and slowly working it through. Aaron smiled up at him as Tobias combed it out, already feeling his hair be lighter.

"Hold on," Tobias said after cleaning up his blond hair, white mixed in with it. "I want to do one more thing."

"Where did you learn to do hair," Aaron said, closing his eyes as Tobias started on a small braid.

"My father," Tobias said it as if it explained everything, "He taught me that even if you're not well physically or mentally, the least you can do is look well. Presentation was key with him."

"And the braiding," Aaron said.

"I don't know," He admitted, "I think someone taught me when I was little. I guess it just stuck with me."

"Whoever they are, I'm glad they did," Aaron turned back towards him in the chair, feeling their new hair and braid. "You did a great job."

"Then as your new hairstylist I say we let your hair grow back out as it's natural color," Tobias cupped Aaron's cheek, "The white looks good on you."

"I think I can do that," Aaron smiled, putting their hand on his. "I don't really have a good reason to keep dying it anymore."
