Thank you to those who are continuing to read my story. This is my first book that I have been able to fully indulge in, and I have so many ideas and places I want to run with it! So here is the first Chapter to this book! I hope you enjoy it - be aware that the book will be written in different POV's!
Also please feel free to catch my spelling/grammar errors and point them out! Xoxo Ashley
-----------------------------------{Aria's POV}
A year and some months later...
"Well we rushed it, moving way too fast that we crushed it. But it's in the past, we can make this leap through the curtains of the waterfall. So say geronimo, say geronimo..."
I rolled over and yawned. I allowed my alarm to play just a bit longer. I read somewhere that if you wake up to your favorite song, you will go through your day with a happy and positive attitude. Now I'm not one to believe everything I read, but it was worth a shot.
After an incredibly awful junior year, I needed all the help I could get to have an enjoyable senior year. Hell, last night I even wished on a shooting star that something would happen to help make my senior year one I'd never forget.
As the song came to a close, I pushed myself up out of bed and headed downstairs for breakfast. Surprisingly I felt a bit more energetic than I usually do, because I am definitely not a morning person.
"Hey mom!" I greeted as I entered the kitchen which smelled of french toast and bacon.
"Well you're incredibly cheerful for it being 6:30 in the morning," she said, giving me a curious look.
"I'm just feeling hopeful. I figure I should probably start senior year with a positive attitude." I smiled and sat down at the table.
I held out my plate as she put a couple pieces of french toast on it. Then I pulled the plate of bacon closer to me. My mom knew better than to try and put my bacon on the same plate as my french toast. I hated when my bacon ended up with syrup on it, or when certain foods touch each other.
"So I guess now would be a good time to give you one of your birthday presents early, huh?" She smirked.
I dropped my fork and jumped out of my seat. "YES PLEASE!"
My birthday wasn't until the coming weekend, but I always got to open one of my birthday presents early, because my birthday always fell on the first week of school. My mom decided that wasn't really fair, so she tried to cheer me up with an early present.
"Finish your breakfast and then you can go open the gift that is in the living room," she laughed.
I quickly finished my french toast and grabbed one last piece of bacon before running to the living to open my present.
The present was wrapped in navy blue wrapping paper, as all my gifts usually were. Navy blue was my favorite color. I tore off the wrapping paper to find a thin, long rectangular box. Inside the box was a red, long sleeve, printed dress. It was the one that I had been looking at for weeks, but always walked away from for one reason or another.
"Mom! Thank you so much!" I yelled to her, not realizing that she was standing in the doorway watching me.
"You're welcome. I figured you could wear it today," she smiled before taking a drink of her coffee.
I grabbed the dress, hugged her, and ran upstairs. After the long process of showering and straightening my hair, I put the dress on. I walked up to the mirror and closed my eyes, anxious about how it would look. Slowly, I opened them and they widened in excitement. It fit better than I ever thought it would. I twirled about to see how it looked at different angles, but saw no flaws.
