I should never be surprised.

He caught me in his arms and picked me up, carrying me until we were back in the bedroom. His form molded to mine as he laid me down. Instantly I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him as close as I could manage.

Gently his hands rubbed up and down my back, calming the deep shakes in my body. I sighed against him, shutting my eyes against the bright lights outside.

We laid in silence for what seemed like hours before I finally angled my head up to meet his gaze. He quirked an eyebrow at me as a smirk played around his mouth.

“Feeling better, love?”

I sunk my shaky fingers into his thick hair and puffed air out of my mouth in protest.

“No.”

Euphrates tightened his grip around my waist and leaned down to place a soft kiss on my lips. Frowning, I twisted away.

“Don’t do that.”

A deep laugh vibrated through his chest. “I like kissing you. I can’t kiss you anymore?”

“I just puked!”

“You used mouthwash and your breath smells fine.” His hand slid down and caught my thigh, settling between my legs. “Come here before I make you.”

Wrinkling my nose, I shifted against his chest. I wanted him. I always wanted him, but right now, thinking about sex made my heart ache.

Euphrates anchored his arm below me and pushed his body up, lifting himself over my folded leg. His arms held me in place as he leaned onto his knees and quickly jerked my legs apart. He gave a satisfied grunt as his hand dropped between my breasts, deftly undoing the buttons of the shirt I wore and opening it.

“Now,” Euphrates shifted to lay between my legs, “you want to tell me what made you so sick earlier?”

“I probably ate something bad.”

He raised an eyebrow, “I ate everything you did and didn’t get sick. Try again.”

I blinked. “Pregnant?”

“You haven’t had your implant removed. Try again.”

“You don’t know everything that I do!” He tapped a finger against my nose lightly. “Don’t do that.”

And you know what the asshole did? He tapped my nose. Again.

“I said don’t do that!”

“Then tell me the truth.”

“I tried, you didn’t believe me.” I caught his finger before he could tap me again. “Stop it.”

“What make you vomit?”

“Your face.”

Another tap to the nose. “You love my face and me.”

“I’d like to punch your face.” Two taps and a quick kiss.

“Don’t threaten me with a good time.”

“You—” He kissed me again.

“I deserve to know what’s bothering my wife.”

“I’m not your wife, you faked those documents.” I argued, twisting to get away from him. My stomach tightened as I felt him begin to harden above me. “Get off!”

Trapping my hair in his hand, Euphrates tilted my head back into the pillow. His nose traveled across my clavicle until he met the base of my throat. I swallowed as he peppered slow kisses and bites to my chin.
