54 ~ Field

Rosanna was inside the cell with Judith when a gunshot rang out from outside. She jumps up from her cot.

Who just fired? Nobody would fire unless there was an emergency.

Rick's outside. Michonne is outside. Carol, Axel, Carl, Beth, Hershel, Sasha.

Glenn left to go to the other side of the prison. He took Tyreese with him.

Rosanna rushes into the main hallway, baby still in hand. Maggie, who was laying down, looks at her, fear in her eyes. "What the hell was that?"

The ginger shakes her head. "I don't-"

Suddenly more gunfire goes off. Lots of it. Rosanna hands Judith to Maggie and grabs her sword. She also picks up a gun and heads for the door.

"What are you doing?" Maggie asks.

"If he's here, i'm gonna kill him."

With that, she opens the door to see chaos.

Hershel is crawling in the overgrown grass. Sasha is with him. Rick is on the bridge outside the gates. Michonne is behind a truck in the field. Carol is hiding behind Axels dead body. Carl and Beth are taking cover near some metal bleachers.

Rosanna looks past them, to the gate where a single truck sits. Several men are there, holding weapons. Some are in the prison towers. The Governor is there.

She shivers when she sees him, her mind flashing back to what he did to her just days prior.

She gasps as a bullet nearly hits Hershel. She holds up her gun and fires. She keeps shooting. 

She recognizes one of the men. Martinez. 

He spots her and fires at her. She dodges behind a half wall and curses to herself.

She stands up and runs back inside the building where Maggie is pacing anxiously. Maggie uses the hand not holding Judith and tosses a few guns to her.

Rosanna runs back out and shouts. "Beth!"

She hands one of the weapons to the girl and rushes to a pile of nearby garbage for cover. She sees Carol still hiding beneath Axels now mutilated body.

"Carol, go!"

She aims for the man in the tower and fires as Carol runs to Carl.

It goes silent for a moment. Then, all of a sudden, a large cube truck drives up the dirt road and directly through the prison fences into the field. Michonne ducks out of the way as the truck flies past her.

The truck stops in the middle of the field and everyone holds their breath. Suddenly the back opens and unleashes dozens of walkers into the grassy area.

Hershel is still in the grass. He tries crawling away faster. Sasha fires off a few shots. Rosanna holds her gun up and shoots the man in the tower directly in the head. Walkers from outside the prison are now headed towards the open gates because of all the noise.

The Governor and his men get back in their truck and drive away. Another truck pulls up and Rosanna sees Glenn and Tyreese inside.

Carol, Beth, Carl and Rose all leave the courtyard and enter the field to try and take down some walkers. Michonne uses her sword to kill a couple as she rushes to save Hershel and Sasha.
