Amelia's dad was physically and mentally abusive but her parents split up when she was 13. Her and her mother moved to New York from England (where Amelia grew up) to escape him. It turned out that Amelia's mum wasn't much better and after a few months in America she resorted to drinking to help deal with the loss of friendships and family. Amelia ended up getting emotionally abused by her mother mainly through insults and constant neglection (aside from when she is shouting at Amelia of course). After years in England taking up different roles on tv, she was pressured into taking up more acting by her mother when she was 14 as a way for her mum to buy booze and pay the bills. Fortunately, Amelia has always she loved acting and has been using it as a coping mechanism and a way to build a community since. Amelia has been left feeling worthless and occasionally has suicidal thoughts she has also resorted to unhealthy coping mechanisms that will be explored later on. She also has body dysmorphia- much like every teen girl ever. Amelia is also struggling with her identity after questioning her sexuality.
