As you and Solomon are getting ready to leave, he realizes he's getting dangerously close to accidentally forgetting to tell you about your magic and your almost overblot. Because of this, as you're choosing between jackets to wear, he just casually throws out "Hey, by the way, you have magic now, and you almost overblotted."
".. Run that by me again?" You look over to him, confused.
"Yeah, uhm, there's not really been a good time to say it, so I didn't wanna accidentally NOT tell you, but you have magic now. And you almost overblotted the other night with the brothers. That's actually how I know you have magic, is because they reached out to tell me that you almost overblotted."
"..." It's a lot to take in, when just seconds prior, you were trying to remember what time of year it was in the human realm and if you needed a thicker jacket or not. "For future reference, if you ever gotta drop a truth bomb on me, I definitely enjoy a heads up."
"That's fair."
"What stopped my overblot?"
"You did, actually."
"Funny, I don't remember kicking my own ass."
Solomon chuckles. "No, no- You did some kind of breathing technique to bring yourself down, and it worked!"
"Huh. Okay then. Wait- I have magic? Is this a pact thing?"
"I'm not entirely sure. You see, my working theory is that when Lilith said she'd 'give you her power', she never made a pact with you. So.. Did she just GIVE you her power?"
Your eyes bug out as you think on that. That's a great point. "So wait, does that mean the magic is temporary?"
"Possibly. If that's the case, being injected with the sum of a reincarnated angel's power, which was apparently enough to fulfill the requirements of the lock, could still be honed to activate your own natural magic generation. If it's not temporary, then you'll only grow more powerful as you train your body in magic, and it begins generating its own naturally. Honestly, you're in such a unique situation, I don't think anyone knows what's going to happen with your powers."
".... Could I do light shows?"
Solomon laughs, nodding. "Possibly. That and more. Especially if you've got Celestial Magic inside of you. There's things that only angels can do. Much like how demons can take people's souls, but a human mage could only ever hope to emulate that type of skill through a lot of runes and spellwork and workarounds and tethers."
"Is this your way of also telling me that you've been trying to find ways to collect human souls, Solomon"
He can't help but chuckle heartily, which causes you to give him a stern look which only makes it worse. "No- No no no.."
"Your laughter makes that hard to believe, Magic Man."
"I've just very thoroughly studied the differences between demons and humans. I found the realization that our magic was so different to be a source of fascination and intrigue."
"I'mma tell everyone that you steal human souls."
"There's a few reapers in existence who wouldn't be happy to hear that rumor, so maybe you shouldn't."
"Reapers?"
"Oh, ah, souls aren't carried by angels or demons, or humans for that matter. The Celestial Realm and Devildom may be places that souls end up, but.. Reapers are a completely different breed of person which is dedicated to collecting souls when it's their time, and taking them where they belong."
