(before anyone gets all mad- I just want to write wholesome shit with America and Hawaii ok-)
(NO THEY AREN'T BEING SHIPPED- GOOD GOD NO-)

Water ran rather quietly, a particular man was holding his arms under the water and scrubbing very lightly.

"Stupid..." He turned the water off and put his jacket back on.

"Makuakāne!"

A young voice had called from a different room, America turned out the light and subconsciously pulled his sleeves down more. He walked into the room with a soft smile, "Yes Hawaii?" the young state had patiently been waiting in bed, "Can you tell me a bedtime story, e ʻoluʻolu?"

He mentally groaned but nodded, trying to think up a story as fast as possible. He sat down on her bed, "Oh! I know! Let me tell you about Green Man's Tunnel!" he had a smug grin, " The green man, or Charlie no-face, was a man who supposedly died while working in an electrical area, it's said his face was melted off and his ghost was sent to a nearby tunnel!"

Hawaii looked frightened and interested at the same time. America chuckled, "It was only somewhat true. The guy was real, Raymond Robinson. he was actually quite nice, his face was disfigured by an accident that happened whenever he was younger." Hawaii tilted her head confusedly, "How'd his ghost get in the tunnel?? why was he called 'Green Man'?? "

America scooted a bit closer, "Locals said that his ghost was ij the Tunnels because that's where he died. As for why they called him green man, people said they thought he glowed a green color. Though, there is a different version of Green man's Tunnel-" Hawaii immediately looked excited,

"Another version? I want to hear!"

America stifled a laugh, "Nahh... I couldn't," He turned to face away from Hawaii, "Makuakāne!! Please?" America chuckled again, a wide grin on his face, "Nope! because.."  He paused and threw his arms up fro a small scare, "It's about a hatchet murderer!" America's sleeves flew downward, but he covered them quickly.

Hawaii must've noticed already, "Makuakāne! what's wrong with your arms?" she asked worriedly, America mentally cringed, but thankfully he had already been prepared for something like this. He dramatically sighed, "Ah! no! it seems you've found me out! well... I have no choice but to tell you.. my secret!" America signaled with his hand for her to come closer.

Hawaii scooted closer, a shine in her eyes. America leaned forward and whispered in her ear, "Don't tell anyone, but... your father fought a monster and won." Hawaii gasped and pulled back, her eyes shining, "Wow! Makuakāne fought a monster and won?!" America nodded, keeping his soft smile, "You gotta promise you won't tell anyone though, I did it to protect you all!"

Hawaii smiled determinedly,

" ʻae nō hoʻi! I promise!"
