Cliff Kurnia: Rodeo Kourneau

Chapter 2: Part 1

The alarm on the phone is ringing. Raphael rolls to his side, facing the nightstand on the side of the bed. He reaches for the phone on top of the nightstand and unplugs the charger that is connected to the phone port, taking it to his bed. He looks at the time, it's already 6 AM. He still has two hours to get ready since school starts at eight. He gets off the bed.

Raphael goes downstairs, on his way to the kitchen while looking at reels on his phone. All those reels but he still feels sad. He couldn't find anything to cheer him up right now. He opens the messaging app to see if he has any new unread messages. Chelly finally replies to his text.

"Really? Did something bad really happened? Or you lost all your primalgems in Genshield after pulling for Helen and still didn't get any?"

"Also wake up you lazy ass bitch it's 6 already"

Raphael chuckles at first but quickly assures Chelly that he's being sincere in his text message.

"Chelly, I'm being serious rn, fr"

"Andrew went missing"

"We should meet at recess, or maybe before school starts"

He puts his phone down on the island table to get himself a bowl of cereal. As he reaches up to open the cupboard above him, he suddenly hears a loud thud as a bottle of caramel sauce falls and hits his face. He grunts as the plastic bottle strikes him, feeling the pain resonate through his head. Luckily, the bottle is made of plastic, so it doesn't shatter across the floor and hurt his feet.

Raphael rubs his face to alleviate the pain. He looks down, picking up the caramel sauce that has spilled on the ground. The sight of the caramel sauce brings back memories of the time he spent with his friend, Andrew, who was eating ice cream with caramel sauce on top while they were watching Star Wars. They were watching Star Wars because Raphael really wanted to introduce the stories and the characters he like.

He puts back the caramel bottle beside the cupboard. Raphael then takes out the cereal box to pour them into a bowl. He takes the milk out of the fridge and pours it into the bowl. Raphael starts to enjoy the bowl of cereal while looking at reels. Upon scrolling, a notification suddenly pops up. It's from Chelly.

"Andrew what?"

"Wait really?"

Raphael puts the spoon down and continues replying with two hands to respond quickly.

"Yeah"

"Last night, at the bar where Rissa works"

Cliff wakes up from his sleep. He looks around, wondering why Rissa isn't in his room. He gets out of bed and makes himself a cup of tea, pouring hot water into a tea bag and dumping three spoonfuls of sugar into a cup. While he's stirring his tea, he sees Rissa coming out of the bathroom all dressed and ready to go to school.

"You showered already?" Cliff asked.

"Yeah, It's 6.30 already and school starts at 8," Rissa said as she walks to the living room to get her phone.

"Also, my bag is at my house, so we gotta go there first then school," Rissa said while she was on her phone.

"Right after I take a quick shower."

While waiting for Cliff who is currently taking a shower, Rissa decides to make flapjacks just like the ones she made at the bar. Not only flapjacks, but she also makes a hot cup of tea for herself.

"AAGHHHHH" Cliff screamed because the water touches his stabbing wound.

After a few minutes, Cliff finally finishes in the bathroom and emerges, ready to head to his room to change into something more comfortable to take Rissa out for school.

Rissa sees him and yells, "Honey, breakfast is ready!"

"Okay, I gotta put some clothes on" Cliff answered.

As he approaches his room, he glances at his nightstand and notices his phone sitting there. Suddenly, he remembers that he forgot to charge it the night before. He tried tapping on the phone screen and clicking the side key button, but the screen doesn't seem to light up. He figured that the battery died, so he plugs the cable in.

Cliff finally puts on his clothes and his jeans, ready for the special morning breakfast. He approaches the table and compliments Rissa on the smell of the flapjacks that can be smelled from his room.

"Wow honey, they smell so good I can smell them from my room," Cliff said looking at the table.

"Aww, thanks!" Rissa answered

Cliff sits across from Rissa and they started eating. After some time, Cliff was reminded of Andrew. Last night Andrew ordered flapjacks, it is also Andrew's favorite dish when ordering at the bar where Rissa works.

"You know, this reminded me of Andrew," Cliff said while cutting the pancake with his spoon.

Rissa puts the spoon on the plate and holds Cliff's right hand.

"Hey, it's okay. We're going to find him soon, and we are going to kick those bad hyenas asses. It takes time honey." Rissa comforts her.

Cliff smiled at her, then continues his breakfast. He started to think of how he can get Andrew back.

Raphael washes his bowl and spoon right after having a very quick cereal breakfast. After washing the bowl and spoon, he turns the water off and takes his phone from the table. He goes upstairs to take a hot shower in his room.

When he's done with the hot shower, he turns the shower water off and takes his towel to wipe up his wet body. He steps out of the shower, stomping his feet on the bathroom mat. Raphael puts on his brief and puts the towel around his neck hanging down in front of his chest. He starts brushing his teeth to make sure he has good breath. He spits the foam and gargles his mouth with the water from the sink.

After he's finished, he gets out of the bathroom to put some clothes on. Raphael opens his closet to pick an outfit for the day. He decides to wear a black polo shirt and a pair of purple shorts. He brushes his hair and hair drying them to make sure they're fluffy.

He finally prepares the things he needs for school and puts them in his backpack. He goes downstairs, picking what pair of shoes to wear. He chooses a pair of black and white Nike casual shoes. Raphael locks the front door and gets in his car. He turns on his car and hits the gas, heading to his school.

Meanwhile, Rissa and Cliff get ready to go. They're heading to Rissa's house first to get her bag, then they head to school. They finally arrive at Rissa's school called Bandera Technologies High school. It's the same school where Raphael, Chelly, and Andrew goes to. Rissa says goodbye to Cliff.

"Bye Cliff!" Rissa waved.

"Good day, honey!" Cliff said continued by the sound of his motorcycle engine.
