Becca
'I changed location to Fifty Shades of Caffeine Cafe... might finally meet my own Christian Grey here! 😉'
I instantly chuckled at the message. It's one of the cafes near my school. It's a cute way to name a business and I always wonder who owns that cafe whenever Irin and I dropped by to buy a coffee or tea.
'Unable to find your lucky charm in Starbucks ha. Okay, be there in ten.' I immediately replied to Nam. We just exchanged line numbers this morning.
'Unfortunately. No six footer handsome man in grey business suit entered the door for about an hour. All noisy students! And an accomplished beautiful woman like me don't do students 🤪, okay doll face... See ya in a bit!'
My smile has been automatically wiped off from my face. Of course, the woman is already in her late twenties and has a professional career. It's only but right not to be involved with a student.
More probably than not, Freen has a similar opinion about the matter. Like Nam, she's also an accomplished woman.
Speaking of her, I left a piece of note on her bedside table before Nam drove me to school using her own car. Freen was sound asleep when I woke up earlier. She looks really tired when she arrived at dawn from her errand. Hence, I didn't wake her up — I don't have advance calculus class today anyway so she doesn't really have to go to school. She even fell asleep on the couch. I hope her neck wouldn't hurt from her sleeping position.
I exited and locked the locker room after I finished dressing up. All my co cheerleaders have already left minutes ago right after they showered. I can feel my muscles straining from the extra hour we spent in practicing for the upcoming cheer competition for championship against our rival academy. It's still early in the afternoon but the main hallway of the school seems like an abandoned street already. These are the times when I wish that Irin is part of the cheerleading squad, but the girl's body is more harder to crack than the stubborn head of Heng.
"Geez, I think I need a massage!" I blurted to no one, but I suddenly jumped in a panic surprise when I felt an arm snaking around my waist.
"Woah! I'm sorry!"
Too late. In my startled state and out of pure instinct, I have quickly turned around and pushed him with my left hand which landed on his firm chest. The guy in school uniform looked upwards at me as he stumbles backward and eventually fell, his butt hitting the ground.
It was Caleb. His facial expression mirroring mine.
"Oh my! I'm sorry... I didn't know that it was you!" I exclaimed in worry and immediately helped him to stand up.
"It's fine! It's my fault!" He replied, then laughed lightheartedly which made me laughed in return.
"You should have called my attention first, you know." I playfully scolded him when our laughters died down.
"I want to startle you, not knowing that I would end up being startled too!" He answers coyly then casted me a handsome smile. The smile which used to melt my heart. I waited for a second to feel the same old feeling, yet nothing came. I blinked at the disturbing realisation, but then decided to return his smile.
"Why are you still here by the way?" I asked, pretending not to know the answer.
"I waited for your practice to finish." He said casually. Like in the past, Caleb would always wait for me to be finished with my school tasks then he will walk me to my service car. It has always been one of his endearing ways in showing how much he cares.
