After walking the long flight of stairs, Jon, Liz, Garfield, and Odie ended up on Level 5, Liz and Jon realized that they were in a hotel, and Jon soon read that the hotel was most likely one in the 1930s. Liz then checked the furniture to see that it was from a decade before the hotel, they also noted how this place was awfully clean because it seems to clean itself with unclean spots being gone in just several minutes.

"Good thing Garfield can't ruin anything." Jon thought to himself with a grin, Garfield caught on to this and decided to scrape some dirt he gathered from the previous levels and put them on the floor, almost immediately the dirt and dust disappeared like an ice cube that was almost melted.

"Well, Garfield, it seems that you can't make a mess here as you wished." Jon told his cat "One more of that, and you won't like what happens next!" Garfield thought pointing his finger at Jon in a slightly aggressive stance. Liz joined the conversation by asking the three "Should we split off?" Jon looked at Garfield and Odie, "Yes, Jon, go ahead and make a dumb decision and get us killed." he thought sarcastically, Odie barked in agreement with Garfield.

"Garfield and I have watched too many horror movies, Liz, so no, we should not split off." Liz looked at Jon in a way that looked like she was surprised but at the same time she wasn't she was impressed with her boyfriend's rationalization. "I think you have made the right choice, Jon," Liz told her boyfriend, and they hugged each other in the hope of coming back to earth together.

As the two hugged each other, Odie was kissing Garfield with a loud smooch that got their attention, Jon was slightly disturbed by the fact that Odie was kissing his Garfield, with Garfield flailing his arms to break free. "I think that is enough kissing, Odie" Jon told his pet dog prying him away from Garfield.

"So, Jon... where should we go? Should we go upstairs, left, or right?" after a little bit of thought Jon, Garfield, and Odie agreed to go upstairs, and the four decided to walk up the steps, they were expecting it to creak badly but it didn't, Jon was both relived yet he also felt a bit uncomfortable about what might happen next.

As Liz was checking her tablet which had information about the backrooms which was identical to Jon's. She soon realized that Level 5 was not a place to stay, although it wasn't Level 3, she certainly didn't want to go there.

Jon decided to check the exits before deciding what to do next before they left the level, they were all shocked to see that a lot of the levels needed to go to were unsafe with Level 9 reaching up to class 5 difficulty, Jon decided to talk to Liz about which level to go through to make it safe, while Liz was a bit scared she did take note of Level 10 which was a great place to stay so they decided to go to Level 9 via a dark wooden door, Garfield and Odie approved of their decision "High risk, High reward." Garfield thought to himself and Odie.

The thing that the four noticed was the jazz music that was playing, as soon as Jon made it up to the last step, Jon was slightly taken aback by this and almost fell, Liz managed to help in the last second by pushing Jon's back, as soon as Jon's feet managed to get back to the ground the jazz music began to play again with a different song playing, the four wondered what was the reason for this.

The four unanimously decided to open the door on the left because they had a feeling nothing would have come out of choosing the centre or right doors, they soon saw a corridor with famous paintings that Jon and Liz saw when they went to an art gallery when they were children they saw paintings like the Mona Lisa, Girl with a Pearl Earring, and The Birth of Venice, the thing was however that their eyes looked like they were looking at them, Jon wasn't shocked at the Mona Lisa as he heard that the Mona Lisa had somebody behind the painting.

However, they all felt a bit of paranoia as the four had never seen eyes following them from the other two paintings. Liz decided to move away from the paintings, and the three were prompted as they didn't feel the slightest bit comfortable being around them.
