As the five ran and the hordes of Facelings slowly faded away into the plain of nonexistence, they found themselves in a naval craft. Jon, Liz, Lyman, Garfield, and Odie were glad that they no longer were in the previous level.
Jon looked at his tablet and was relieved to see and read that Level 17 was very safe, with the exception being the Imprint which apparently could knock somebody out unconscious for three to four seconds should somebody make eye contact with them and at worst give them brain death.
The five devised how they were going to get out, and everybody agreed that they needed to exit from a rare but consistent exit to leave the level and so the five decided to wander around together to find supplies such as food and medical equipment just in case any future levels bought trouble for them.
The corridor that the five entered was very narrow that Garfield almost took up all of the space and was forced to stay behind Odie, Garfield was quite disappointed but he was more concerned like everybody else with getting out of the Backrooms than winging about being behind everyone else.
Lyman soon found a corridor by peeping over Jon and Liz's shoulders. there was only a white door with a white room, there were a large crate of undefended supplies and food, Garfield was really happy with this and took almost all of the food except for some lettuce which Jon, Lyman, and Liz shared amongst themselves.
After eating the lettuce, Liz saw some medical equipment as Jon and Lyman were slowly chewing down the lettuce. "This could be useful," Liz told everyone as she found a first aid kit, as Jon was finishing his lettuce he noticed an Imprint and didn't make eye contact, he gestured to the other four to do the same.
After a while, the Imprint left, and Garfield and Odie were curious about what would happen if they looked at the Imprint, Jon could tell that the two were curious and explained that they shouldn't look at it because they would be unconscious, for Garfield specifically, Jon told him that the imprint would make him diet for an eternity, Garfield was certainly no longer happy with the Imprint and certainly was motivated to not look at it.
The five soon went out of the room and into the cramped corridors, Garfield and Odie were certainly bored but they didn't know what to do, they just kept walking until Liz saw a giant puddle when she opened a door, Jon and Odie immediately jumped into the puddle, Garfield starting shedding a lot of cat hair.
"Garfield, didn't I tell you to stop shedding?" Jon asked his cat with a slight tone of disappointment. "Couldn't be helped," Garfield told Jon with a look of frustration that he was even asking him such a question. Odie barked and yipped talking to Garfield about being homesick, Garfield understood what his canine comrade was talking about.
"Garfield! Odie! C'mon, We need to get out of this place!" Jon exclaimed to them, Garfield and Odie refused stubbornly clearly enjoying their time in the pool of water. Jon was running out of ideas until he realised he told them about the Imprint, and there was one just behind them that they didn't look at.
"Garfield! Odie! Imprint!" he exclaimed to the two in a genuine panic, Garfield and Odie saw its feet and knew what to do, Garfield and Odie screeched in panic and ran to wards Jon and Lyman hugging them in fright, Jon was proud of himself for managing to convince the toe to come back while Lyman did his best to soothe Odie's fears.
The five kept moving onwards in the naval craft, even Jon, Liz, and Lyman were starting to feel a bit stressed and bored at the same time, they wanted to get out as there were no entities or monsters to chase them around and they were a bit stressed of accidentally missing the exit.
Garfield in a fit of boredom decided to revive Ask a Dog once again, "Dear Ask a Dog" Garfield was about to ask Odie "How are things going for you here in the Backrooms, I have heard the terrible things are lurking in the hallways that no person should encounter, regards, a big fan of yours."
Odie was happy to hear that somebody enjoy Ask a Dog, Odie yipped and barked exactly nine times, which Garfield interpreted as "Thank you for being a big fan of Ask a Dog, speaking of the Backrooms, there isn't much to talk about, It has been quite boring actually, Garfield and I are walking across some ship with Jon, Lyman, and Liz trying to get to Level 18 and so far we haven't found the exit."
"Thank you, Odie." Garfield thought to his canine comrade "May I ask you some questions?" he asked him, Odie barked once in confirmation that he was fine with being asked some questions. "Okay... first, how did you feel once you saw Lyman?" Garfield asked him, Odie thought for a while but came back with a response which Garfield interpreted as "I was really happy to see him, It has been a very long time since I saw his face, almost four decades actually, you can imagine how I felt seeing him after that long of a time." he concluded by saying "I hope everybody can find their lost relatives or partners, wherever or whenever they are."
"Thank you, Odie." Garfield told his canine companion "Now let's catch up the three so we don't get lost and get stuck in here for an eternity." just as Garfield finished his thought he heard Jon yell out their names, the two rushed to Jon trying to see who was quicker than the other, unsurprisingly Odie was quicker than Garfield by about two seconds.
"I am glad you are here, Boys!" Jon told them in quite an enthusiastic tone "We have found the exit out of this place!" he exclaimed pointing at the door.
"Finally!" Garfield thought "We can leave this place!" Odie was also enthusiastic about this, and Liz and Lyman were also enthusiastic about going to the next level, the five soon made it to Level 18.
