Slowly the back hatch closes and the plane settles. My adrenaline begins to wear off as Owen and I let go of each other. We both pant as we try to regain our breaths. There's a thumping pain in my abdomen where I landed against the railing. It's probably started to bruise. I try not to think about the internal damage. Now is probably not the best time to bring up the doctor's note.

I feel Owen touch my knee as he sits up next to me. I'm still breathing fairly heavily as the pain slowly begins to fade. "Are you hurt? Are you okay?" Owen asks quickly, concern laced in his voice.

I reach out and place my hand on his upper arm trying to reassure him that I'm fine. "Yeah." I exhale out of breath.

"You're hurt? Where?" He begins to feel around my sides and stomach, brushing over the bruise. "Where are you hurt?" He asks concerned.

I sit up and shake my head while placing my hand on his cheek. "I'm not hurt. I'm okay. I'm okay." I explain.

Relief fills Owen's eyes before he winces in pain, taking his weight off his right arm. Now it's my turn to get concerned as I help him sit up better. "Where?" I ask as he lifts his arm I notice there's a tear in his jacket sleeve around he forearm.

"Is it bleeding?" He asks as he tries to get a good look at it.

I shake my head, "I can't–take this off." I say and begin pulling his jacket off. He quickly removes the jacket with a little help from me.

"Am I? Am I?" He asks as I run my hands along his arm feeling for blood and looking for any type of cut or wound.

When I don't see anything I shake my head relieved. "No. You're okay." Owen nods while slowly getting to his feet and grabbing a hold of my hand to pull me up as well. A small groan escapes my lips as I stand. Owen pulls me into a tight hug which I return in full. Everything went so wrong so quickly back in Malta. "We're okay." I sigh as we sway a little in the hug.

Eventually we pull away from each other and head to the cockpit. Owen sits in the seat next to the woman while I take the last open seat right behind her.

"Kayla Watts." She introduces herself, "You're welcome." She glances back at us.

Owen glances around the plane, "You look like you fly for Biosyn." he says.

"I'm gonna take that the way you meant it and not the way it sounded." Kayla responds. "I fly for whoever got a bag but we'll call this a favor." She explains and glances in Owen's direction, who put on a pair of old headphones. Kayla shakes her head. "Those don't work. They broke." Owen takes the headphones off and sets them aside. I finish getting my buckle in and tighten it to my liking. "I'll take y'all to Biosyn but I can't promise it won't be dangerous." Kayla explains.

Owen glances at her, "Willing to risk your life for people you never met?" He asks.

Kayla raises an eyebrow and looks at Owen. "You want to ask questions or you want to ride?"

I glance between the two as Owen looks away out the window, "We'll take the ride."

*3rd POV*

Biosyn Sanctuary

Maisie looks up from the video she is supposed to be watching and glances behind her to see Henry and Lewis arguing behind a glass wall. She may not be able to understand everything the two are saying, but it's clear that Lewis is angry and annoyed with Henry.

With the two men focused elsewhere, Maisie rises from the table and swipes an identification wristband off the counter. Beta, Blue's baby, chitters at Maisie as she approaches. The girl kneels before the cage. "Hey, do you want to get out of here?" She asks the young raptor.
