Biosyn Valley

The tracker beeps steadily in Owen's hands as he follows it through the forest toward the beacon. He looks up and sees the chair hanging from the trees, the parachute ripped and tangled in the branches above. His stomach fills with nerves when he sees that the chair is empty.

Looking down for any sign of y/n, his brows furrow when he catches sight of crimson blood coating some leaves. The nervous feeling in his gut triples. Kayla puts the tacker away as the two follow the trail of blood along the forest floor. It's a lot of blood, and Owen almost doesn't want to know what's at the end of the trail. He prays it's not y/n.

Holding his breath, Owen climbs up a little to get a look over a fallen tree. Kayla does so as well. Both of them exhale in relief when they find the trail leads only to a deer carcass. While he feels a ton of relief, he can't help but to worry as Y/n is still missing.

Nearby the sound of branches snapping and a loud bellow draws the twos' attention away from the deer. A familiar T-rex stomps through the forest toward the deer.

Owen and Kayla quickly duck down to hide from the dinosaur under the cover of the fallen tree. They watch as the rex huffs and sniffs at the dead deer before rolling it over. Just as she picks up the small meal another loud crash echoes through the forest causing Owen and Kayla to duck back once again.

Heavy footfalls approach. Rexy growls as the giganotosaurus steps closer. Owen and Kayla watch as the air grows tense with the two dinosaurs facing off. Kayla shakes slightly with fear at the sight of the two large carnivores.

"Allosaurus?" Owen asks, not quite recognizing the large predator.

Kayla shakes her head, "Giganotosaurus. Largest known terrestrial carnivore. You put two apex predators in one valley, pretty soon there's only going to be one."

Rexy drops the deer as the two dinosaurs roar at each other in challenge. In a flash the two charge, snarling as they fight for the food. The giga grabs the top of Rexy's muzzle and pulls her. Rexy twists her head to break free. There are puncture wounds in her skin where the other dinosaur bit her.

Deciding the meal isn't worth the fight, Rexy turns away and roars one last time at the giga before walking off. Victorious, the giga picks up the deer and eats the small meal while walking off.

Owen and Kayla exhale in relief as the predators are no longer around. Together they rise and quietly make their way through the forest looking for any sign of y/n.

Amber mines

Maisie points her flashlight at every shadow as she follows behind Alan through the tunnels. Ellie gasps as a slight breeze brushes against her skin.

"Did you feel that?" She asks. "That's an air current. Must be an opening up ahead." She says as the three of them stop.

Alan glances around at the walls of the tunnel, "How old is this mine do you think?" He asks and glances at Ellie.

Ellie doesn't answer his question as they start walking again, "Just breathe. Nobody panic, Just watch out for bats." She shines her light toward the ceiling looking for the winged creatures.

"I hate bats." Maisie mutters.

"Who said anything about bats?" Alan asks at the same time.

"Well, there's probably no bats. No falling rocks. Just the possibility of toxic gas, dehydration, hypothermia.  Just possibilities, nothing for certain." Ellie begins rambling. She sighs as she thinks about their current situation. "I should have left you where you were. Why did I bring you into this? You were happy in your element."
