Contrary to most of her forgotten memories, Elisa remembered that day like it was yesterday. She remembers the end of the war against Gaia, remembers feeling her connection to Leo fade away, she remembers crumbling into Khael as he frantically tried to access her injuries.
Most of all Elisa remembers her utter relief when her connection roared to life again, Leo was fine, he was alive, he was safe.
What Elisa doesn't remember is the afterwards, she doesn't remember collapsing or that her heart gave out for a singular minute before it started up again.
She also doesn't remember how she got to where she's at now. She was aiming for Rome.
"Uhhh...." She furrows her eyes as she glances around her at the gloomy place she landed it, clutching tighter at her bag, her other hand clutching at the mixed roman-greek coin that turned into her sword.
Where did she land and how far was she from either camp or rome?
"Khael is going to kill me." Elisa muttered, seeing the anti-monster phone Leo had made for her was dead. She really wasn't great at technology.
All of a sudden, someone ran past her quickly and Elisa swerved back out of instinct, knocking into someone else leading her to frantically turn to face them, panic in her eyes visible.
The man behind her rose his hands up in a placating motion. He was a lot taller than her, dressed in black and blue. Elisa blinked at him before moving back cautiously, immediately heeding her paranoia. "Who are you?"
"Nightwing." 'Nightwing' smiled at her with concern in his eyes that did nothing to soothe her paranoia. "Are you alright? you seem lost." Dick could almost feel how lost she was, he had never seen her before in his life but she was naggingly familiar to him.
His eyes drifted to her defensive stance, to her tight grip of her back, to the skull ring on her finger and finally to the distrusting look on her face. He had seen that once, in the early stages of when Jason became Robin. And again in the early stages on Damian living with Bruce.
"I'm fine. I don't need help." Elisa's word were as harsh as her tone was cold. She was just fine, why did people have to try to insert themselves in her business?
She didn't look older than fifteen in his eyes, she was a child in his eyes and he couldn't understand why she was on the streets at night. "What's your name?"
Elisa pursed her lips before stepping back more to increase the space between them. "It's Elisa. My name."
'Father please help me. Records, traces of my existence as a normal mortal. Please' Elisa prayed to her father for help, something she usually avoided.
'I'll see to it, my daughter' his voice rang through her head and she relaxed the tiniest amount.
"Okay, Elisa. What are you doing this late on the streets. I'm sure your parents are worried about you." Nightwing watched her reaction turn to panic and prepared for her bolting.
And that's how Elisa found herself in front of Bruce Wayne.
"Hello." He smiled at her and she didn't return it, barely looking at him.
'What the fuck is going on here?'
