Gibbs walked into Jack's office. Jack had been his wife for five years now. They had gotten married on Valentine's Day and their wedding bands had hearts carved into them.
Jack had pulled several all-nighters to try to solve a case and all of her days had blended together. She had even forgotten about her and Gibbs' anniversary.
He looked around to find Jack in the middle of her office, in front of the table. Folders and papers surrounded her and her head laid in the keyboard of her laptop.
Gibbs sets the two coffees, roses and bad from PANDORA on Jack's desk. He then makes his way to his wife. She looked amazing, even as she slept. He smiled at her. "Jack, honey. Wake up," he said as he gently shook her awake.
Jack's eyes opened and she smiled at Gibbs. "Good morning, Cowboy," she said. "Morning, Jack," Gibbs said. Jack scoots back and leans up against her couch. "So, I knew you'd be tired so, I got your favorite," he says and stands up to make his way to his wife's desk. "Really?" she asks. "Yeah," Gibbs picks up Jack and his coffees. He hands Jack hers and he watches as she quickly takes a drink.
"Don't think that's all," he says. "What do you mean?" Jack asks and looks at her husband. Gibbs picks up the bouquet of roses and as soon as Jack sees them, her face lights up. "Oh, Cowboy. You didn't have to," she says.
"Oh, yes I did. What kind of husband would I be if I forgot our anniversary? " Gibbs says as he hands his wife the bouquet. Jack's eyes go wide and she immediately stands up. "No, no. There's no way it's the fourteenth," she says as she looks around for her phone.
She spots it on the couch behind her. She grabs it and turns the screen on. 'February 14' it read. "Jethro, I'm sorry," she says. "For what?" he asks, eyeing her with confusion.
"For forgetting our anniversary," she says and drops her head into her hands. "Jack, it's alright," he says and walks over to his wife. He puts his hand on her lower back. "No, it's not. You probably hate me now. I'm such a terrible wife," Jack says as tears start to fall from her eyes. "Jack, don't say that. You're the wife of my dreams and the fact that you care so much is everything to me,"
Gibbs wraps his arms around Jack and hugs her. After a moment, Jack pulls away and looks up at her husband. "So, you really don't care?" she asks and Gibbs chuckles. "No, I don't," he says and smiles at her.
"What else do you have for me?" she asks Gibbs and he chuckles again. He walks over to her desk and picks up the bag from PANDORA. He hands it to Jack.
"Wait, what's this?" she asks him, smiling. "Just open it," he says and smiles at his wife. Jack opens the bag, pulls out a box and as soon as she opens it, her face lights up.
"I told you after I broke the first one that I didn't want another," Jack says. "First of all you didn't break it. It fell off and was stepped on. Second of all, you deserve another one. I even added the diamond from the first into the middle of this one,"
Gibbs takes the new engagement ring and slides it onto his wife's finger. "Cowboy, it's beautiful," she says. "Just like you and for the record, I could never hate you. I will love you, forever and always,"
