"She was a punk. He did ballet"

------------------------------------------------

"I need to get this out of here!" Sai shouts angrily, pinching her nose and picking up the pot with burnt chai in it.

Prem, who had just come home after fumbling out of the house to attend a surgery he completely forgot about, raises a quizzical brow up at this, watching her as she throws the pot down on the balcony, and runs into the bathroom, a hand covering her mouth. Vinu's cries are easily heard from outside the door. For a second, he seriously considers if he can crash at one of his friends' houses to avoid this heavy noise pollution.

"What's going on bud?" he turns his gaze over to the 9 month old baby boy sitting on the ground with a rattle.

"Prem, toss me an entire roll of napkins!" Sai requests from the bathroom.

"Forget it little dude, I would be crying too." Prem chuckles, picking him up from the ground. "Now, let's help your mother deal with your little sibling, yes?"

Vinu continues to cry hysterically, rubbing his tiny hands on his handsomely large eyes, at least until he shoves his pacifier into his own mouth. All the while, Prem swipes his hand across the counter, taking enough papers for what he assumes could cover the entire floor if needed.

"Hey, hey, it's ok." he whispers to the infant, tossing the paper towels through the bathroom doorway, probably making contact with Sai. Now, he needs to figure out how the hell to go forth from here. "You're a 9 month old, right little dude? I'm sure you can have mashed bananas."

Straddling Vinu on his hip, he tears off the peel, and single-handedly cuts it onto a plate, all the while blowing raspberries with Vinu.

"Here comes the airplane!" he says, waving the small fork with banana on it towards Vinu.

A giggle erupts from the child's throat, excitement, and probably relief, evident on his face while he munches on the snack.

He follows the silence with a sigh. "Thank god you stopped crying. I thought you wouldn't Bud."

The infant indifferently continues eating, now eating his second slice. Prem shook his head with a grin, putting down the fork. Sai emerged from the bedroom in a freshly ironed outfit, visibly drained.

"Thank god he stopped crying. I put him down for one second to pour my tea and he began crying at the top of his lungs." Sai shakes her head. "And to think I will have to deal with another one of these mini-devils-"

"Hey! Don't call my bud a devil." Prem playfully snaps, narrowing his eyes.

Sai couldn't help but catch his infectious smile, so mischievous, it reminds her of the smiles she used to forge before marrying Virat.

Vinu excitedly waves his arms around, mouth full of food. The little instance brings about laughter.

"Ima!" he shouts, catching sight of Sai. Desperately he reaches for his mother, repeating his call for her. Sai goes over to their side of the counter

"Hey, hey, hey, stop right there bud. No ma till you're done eating your dinner." Prem scolds, messing up Vinu's hair and backing up a few inches from Sai.

Though not comprehending the meaning of Prem's words, Vinu unrelentingly screeches for Sai to hold him, forcing Prem to concede.

"So mean, aren't you bud? You take too much after your mother." Prem scrunches up his face, while booping Vinu on the nose. He screams and looks away from Prem resentfully. "Oh come on livid little boy! I was just trying to help."

Sai grins, pulling Prem's cheek. "Well, my dear friend, I believe he is upset because you called him a little boy."

Prem purses his lips when she drops her hand. He goes behind her to face Vinu, who seems to be lost in a whole different world from the one they're in. Gently, he once again boops Vinu's nose. "Well, our lovely little man, I hope you have a good dinner, as I am going to bed."

Just as he begins pacing down the corridor to his room, Sai stops him.

"Already?" Sai questions, looking at her watch. "It's only 7:43 in the evening."

Prem looks toward her, and answers her question in simple words. "Well Sai, not everyone is on maternity leave."

With that, his bedroom door closes. Sai ponders for a minute, and realizes what he said.

"I'M NOT ON MATERNITY LEAVE YET!? Am I?"

...

His last statement had been purposeful. Sai's head doctor/friend/boss, has decided he wants Sai to begin her maternity leave after she thought her water broke in the middle of an appointment.

So, being Sai's friend and roommate, he took it up as his own duty to inform her recently emotional self to pull herself together and accept the maternity leave option.

Imagine his surprise when she barged into his room literally 2 seconds after Vinu fell asleep. Yeah, he wasn't surprised. Instead he held her maternity leave papers, and asked her to sign them.

Was he flabbergasted when she said no? Hell no. He had become known to this woman's every trait by now, though her pregnancy had helped him figure out a lot about her stubbornness and anger issues. And how much she cries. And what she likes to eat.

He saw her putting candy floss and vanilla ice cream between two pieces of bread the other day, and then he tried it for himself.

She's mad for creating such a beautiful combination.

Anyway, even bribing her with a lifetime supply of candy floss didn't get her to say yes.

Apparently she thinks, and he quotes, "I will finish it in a week and I will pester you until I get more you moron!"

So, instead of getting his head chopped off by a pregnant lady as an end to his day, he agreed to help her get to and from the hospital without being too exhausted.

Oh, and the bribe to get her to agree to the compromise? A tub of birthday cake flavored ice cream.

OMG.

I think all of us are getting tired of the continuous loop of sai loves virat, virat loves sai, and now instead of Pakhi, Satya is portrayed as the madman here.

For gods sake, at this point, Virat is the problem if anything. You've got your family and work, don't run after Sai like a dog.

I love Satya. He matches Sai's energy 100%, with his playfulness and as Virat describes it "irresponsible behavior".

But the thing now is how the stupid writer is rushing the story. Like how tf is Satya supposed to fall in love with Sai less than a week into their marriage.

I am so done with the stupid freaking Ghum writer, and his half-brained storyline. Get a new writer of some...

Anyway, how'd you like the update?

I wanted a little detox from the show, so I decided to lean on this book and let my imagination pour while writing this.

Honestly, this is the one I will write in when I see something stupid in the show.

Prem is an ideal man, and I will never stop saying that.

I won't ruin him like Ghum's writer is doing to Satya.
