By the end of the hour, Finnick and Aria were sitting together, side by side, staring deep into the forest. Johanna kneeled in front of them asking if they were ok. Finnick just brushed her off, his face not wavering from that zoned out expression.
Katniss was rocking on the ground as Peeta helped her up and hugged her, reassuring her nothing happened to Prim.
"You're fiancés right, the whole country loves your sister." Johanna shrugged at Katniss. "They torture her or do anything to her, forget the districts, there would be riots in the damn capitol."
Katniss looked scared as she watched Johanna.
"HOW DOES THAT SOUND SNOW?" She shouted into the air. "WHAT IF WE SET YOUR BACKYARD ON FIRE. YOU KNOW YOU CANT PUT EVERYBODY IN HERE." She stared into the sky. Aria and Finnick looked up at her with tears in their eyes as Katniss and Peeta looked scared. Beetee just looked disappointed.
"What? He can't hurt me. There's no one else that I love." Johanna looked at everyone shrugging. She sighed. "I'll get you some water." She murmured and walked away.
Soon they made their way back to the beach. Finnick went to his way into the water, sitting in the sand, letting the water brush onto his waist. Aria walked over to him, sitting next to him, her head resting on his shoulder. Breathing each other in. Aria could hear his heart beat, slow and steady. She placed her hand on his and he looked down at her, sad eyes looking into one another.
"Thank you." He nodded. She nodded back as they looked out into the water. She wouldn't let the water touch her feet.
Johanna brought Katniss some water as they all sat on the sand, watching Finnick and Aria sit together.
"I have a plan." Beetee looked at them.
"Finnick! Aria!" Johanna stood up to go get the two as Beetee told them their plan.
"Where do the careers feel safest, the jungle?"
"The jungles a nightmare." Johanna tapped her foot.
"Probably here on the beach." Peeta shrugged.
"Then why are they not here." Beetee looked around.
"Because we are. We claimed it." Johanna said.
"And if we left they would come." He looked at Finnick.
"Or stay hidden in the tree line." Finnick returned the stare.
"Which in just over four hours would be soaked with water from the 10 o'clock wave. And what happens at midnight." Beetee turned to Katniss.
"Lighting strikes that tree." Katniss looked back at him.
"Heres what I propose, we leave the beach at dusk, we head to the lightning tree. That should draw them back to the beach. Right at midnight we then run this wire from the tree to the water. Anyone in the water, or on the damp sand, will be electrocuted."
"How do we know the wires not gonna burn up?" Johanna looked down as Aria feels the damp sand run through her fingers.
"Because I invented it. I assure you it won't burn." Everyone looked at each other, thinking about whether this is a good idea or not.
"Well it's better then hunting them down." Johanna shrugged.
"Yea why not." Katniss looked from Johanna to Beetee. "If it fails no harm done anyway right?"
"Alright I say we try it." Peeta's lips turn into an upside down smile.
"So what can we do to help?" Aria spoke.
