Taehyung went to class alone that day. It felt strange—awkward, even—walking through the campus without Jimin by his side. He had to spend the whole day on his own. No one to talk to. No comforting presence beside him.
And to make things worse, Yeri and her swirling rumors were still everywhere—whispers that followed him like shadows in the hallway.
Jimin had always been there, shielding him from the noise, the judgment, the cruelty.
But today... well, he had to endure it all by himself.
Taehyung sighed for the nth time as he stepped into the classroom. He could already feel it—the weight of countless eyes on him, the quiet whispers brushing against his ears like needles.
He kept his head low, telling himself he just had to make it through the day.
He has to endure everything alone.
He was just about to take his seat when someone yanked his bag from behind, pulling him backward. He stumbled and hit the floor with a thud, pain shooting up his spine.
Taehyung winced, hissing as he rubbed his lower back.
Laughter erupted behind him.
He turned his head slightly—and there they were. A group of girls standing in a corner, smirking and giggling like it was all just a game.
His heart sank, but he clenched his jaw, refusing to let the tears fall.
"why did you do that?" Taehyung asked quietly, struggling to get back on his feet.
"Oh? Did I hurt your little ugly face?" one of the girls sneered, laughing with her friends.
Taehyung stood up slowly, brushing the dust off his uniform, trying to keep his composure.
"I still can't believe Jungkook had to kiss this ugly face to win a stupid bet," Yeri said loudly, flipping her hair with a dramatic roll of her eyes. "God, he's so disgusting."
A sharp pang hit Taehyung's chest at the sound of Jungkook's name. He swallowed the lump in his throat and bent down to pick up his bag.
He didn't want a scene. He just wanted to disappear. Quietly, he turned and began walking toward the last seat in the class.
But before he could reach it, a sudden shove from behind sent him stumbling again. Taehyung braced himself for impact, squeezing his eyes shut, expecting to hit the cold, hard floor once more.
But it never came.
A strong arm wrapped around his waist, steadying him just in time.
His eyes flew open.
There, holding him securely in his arms, was a tall, handsome man with sharp features and a calm, confident smile.
The man helped him stand upright, keeping one hand gently on his shoulder for support.
Then he turned to face the girls, his expression shifting to stone.
"If you're done bullying him," he said, voice cold and authoritative, "perhaps we can start the class."
The room fell silent.
"Mind your own business, Lee Minho! He's my target," Yeri snapped, stepping forward and reaching out to shove Taehyung again.
But Minho immediately stepped in front of him, standing like a shield.
"You're not touching him again, Yeri," he said sharply, his voice laced with anger. "I've seen enough. He's innocent. If you want to bully someone, go find your boyfriend—but don't you dare lay a finger on him again."
"Yeri, let's just go. He's not worth it," one of the girls muttered, tugging at her sleeve.
Yeri glared daggers at Taehyung before pointing a perfectly manicured finger in his face.
"If you ever try to go near my Jungkook again," she hissed, "I swear I'll turn your life into hell. He's mine, bitch."
With one final flip of her hair, she marched off to her seat, followed by the others.
Minho gently guided Taehyung toward the last row, and they both sat down quietly.
"Thanks, Minho," Taehyung said softly, offering a small, grateful smile.
"It's okay, Taehyung. What are friends for?" Minho replied, his own smile warm and easy.
"We're... friends?" Taehyung asked, surprised.
"Aren't we?" Minho teased, then held out his hand. "Let's make it official. Hi, I'm Lee Minho."
Taehyung smiled, his heart a little lighter for the first time that day. He shook his hand.
"Nice to meet you, Minho. I'm Kim Taehyung."
They exchanged smiles—two strangers becoming friends in the midst of chaos.
Taehyung smiled to meet a new friend who stood by his side. Little did he know a pair of dark, cunning eyes staring them from across the room.
