Kylie
A Kindle "Why would you buy me this?" I whisper
"Well, we know you like reading, and  you can read and download books," Mike says.
"Wow, I really don't know what to say. I can't accept this it's way too much. "
"Yes, you can, so you might as well just say thank you and accept it, Lenny says,"
I sigh "okay thank you very much,"
"There that wasn't so hard was it, Mike says." I laugh. These guys are so sweet.
I sit there looking at it for a couple of minutes, and then Mike says
"What's the matter?" and I am embarrassed to admit I have no idea how to switch it on.
"Oh, is that all I can show you if you like?" Lenny says
"Thank you, and I appreciate that." I laugh. Lenny has great patience and shows me how to use the Kindle by the time we finish. I have a few books. The guys are talking, and Mike asks if they wanna go to the gym. David looks at me, and I know he is going to say no cause he is worried about me being on my own.
"I want you to go to the gym and spend some time with the guys you have not have the chance to go out together since I got here don't worry about me I'm going to stay here and read."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"I'm not sure,"
"David, go! on the end of the discussion. "
"Yes, ma am," I laugh. I've been feeling so guilty about the guys not spending any time together, one of them always with me, so it will be good for them all to be together.
Minutes later, they are ready to leave. I stand there ready to lock the door after they've gone
"Are you sure you will be ok?" David says
"Yes, David," he stands there looking at me. I look at the guys, and they are rolling their eyes.
"Kylie, you have all our numbers?." Yes, there by the phone (I don't have a mobile)
"All the windows are locked?"
"Yes," I sigh
"David  come on, she will be fine!" Lenny says they all but had to drag David out the door, and I locked it. I go back to the living room and pick up the Kindle, and then I tap on one of the romance books Len helped me get earlier. I'm so engrossed that I don't hear the guys come in.
"Hi, kylie," Mike says. I jump"Sorry didn't mean to scare you,"
"It's okay. I was just so engrossed in reading that I didn't even hear you guys come in."
Carl sits next to me "Well what have you been reading ?"and I blush
"Romance" they laugh
"Don't be embarrassed if it's what you enjoy, then read away."
"How long were you gone?"
"Two hours," Lenny says
"Really, wow, I lost track of time,"
"Well, we are very happy that you like it!"
"It's fantastic!"
"You can buy books as well, you know," Mike says
"Really, how do you do that?"
"Here I'll show you, and then I'll show you your balance," Carl says.
"There won't be any balance on there yet. I haven't put any money on." I think I see the beginning of a smile, but I can't be sure.
"Here you are here is the catalogues of books that you can buy from the store."
"Look how much some of them are!"
"Reading is an expensive hobby!" Carl says
"Do they have a free section on here that I can use?"
"The books that are free are crap," David says.
"Oh, i'm so disappointed I haven't got a job. I can't afford to buy. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait.
"Here where the balance is." I look at the balance, and my eyes pop out of my head
Your remaining balance is £500
"You're reading it right !" David says
"I'm sorry I can't accept this is way too much. Take it back!"
"No, we can't. Anyway, if we could, we wouldn't. This is for you," Mike says
"There really is no arguing with you guys. Is there?"
"That's right!" Carl says.
"Well, thank you very much, but I would appreciate it if you wouldn't do things like this for me in future it's way too much." I say
"All I heard was thank you very much. What about you guys?" Lenny says
"Yep, we all heard the same!" they laugh. I don't mind they are such a great bunch, and I still can't believe what they've done for me.
"You can carry on reading if you want," Mike says
"Ok, I didn't want to come across as rude." I smile
"Don't be silly read away" They start talking about sport and it's not long before I'm in a world of my own I love reading it takes me away and I have a picture running through my mind it's wonderful. A cup of hot chocolate is put in front of me. "Lovely, thank you, Lenny." he smiles at me and sits down, and soon enough, sport is the topic of discussion. I smile. This is so natural, no shouting, no degrading, and it's so peaceful. I'm sitting next to David and I notice that his arm is on the top of the settee around me he is still talking and I'm nervous but I put my head on his arm and he looks at me wraps his arm around me and kisses my head I smile at him and he goes back to talking I put the kindle down next to me and relax next to David with my hot chocolate.
As the night winds down I snuggle into David my head on his chest I feel so safe and protected that it brings a tear to my eye I feel a tear escape and roll down my cheek then I feel David's thumb wipe away the tear.
"Why are you crying?"
"There happy tears"
"Want to talk about it?" I notice the guys have gone."They have gone to bed, "
"Oh,"
"I I feel,"
"It's ok. You don't have to tell me,"
"I want to." I take a deep breath
"I feel so safe with you I mean I do with all of you it's just with you I feel more" I'm blushing and I look down David raises my head with his hand under my chin
"I'm happy you feel that way. I like you, kylie a lot,"
"I like that you like me,"
"Kylie, can I kiss you?" I nod my head he leans in, and then his lips meet mine his lips are so soft I follow his movements, and then he pulls away it was nice, my first kiss.
He smiles at me. I smile back
"It's getting late. Are you ready for bed? you have a long day ahead of you tomorrow. "
"Yes" we go upstairs I go to the bathroom wash and put my pyjamas on then go back into the bed room David is there he has on some shorts and t shirt he goes into the bathroom. I climb into bed and lie down. I still can't get over how soft this bed feels. David comes out and climbs into bed. I sigh in comfort, and we move closer together it's not long before sleep takes me over my last thought being. I hope tomorrow goes ok.
