Moving On

Cathy is glaring at me. The gavel comes down. "Miss Home, please turn around," Judge Mia says
"We are here today to sentence Miss Home for the assault on her daughter a Miss Kylie Home." There are gasps all around the room
"Order order!" she bangs the gavel the room goes quite."Is there anything that your client would like to say? The judge asks
"Yes, there is," the lawyer says
"Stand up, Miss Home," the judge says. Cathy stands.
"I would just like to say I have no regret for what I did to her, actually. I wish I hurt her more, I wish I had killed her before she was born." She looks directly at me and snaps." You will never be free of me. I will make your life hell when I get out. " With that said, she sat down.
Miss Home, I will never understand how you can hate your own child. Is Miss kylie Home here?" The judge asks, I raise my hand in the air
"Miss Kylie Home, I would like you to come to my chambers." I get up and make my way down and follow the judge to the chambers.
"Have a seat, Miss Home." I sit down, and she smiles at me. "Can you give me a little insight into what your life was like?" I give her the shortest version I can by the time I have finished she is shaking her head. I explain some more stuff to her, and she has a smile on her face. Once done, we make our way back to court. I walk up the aisle and take my seat. I grab David's and Lens' hands.
"Miss Cathy Home please stand" Cathy stands "The sentence for your crime against Miss Kylie Home is you are to leave and never return to the area. You will take your daughter to another state and not return. Jail time is not going to work for this crime, as you have already said you would go after Miss Home again. You will be taken to your home and pack. You will then be escorted to another state with your daughter Katie ,and it will be made known to the police that you are never to return to this area. The first time you break this law, you will go to jail for ten years. This is how serious this sentence is, " she bangs her gavel. We walk out, and David picks me up and swings me around. All the guys do the same, David picks me up and kisses me. I look into his eyes and cry.
"It's over," I sniff
"It's over baby" and I hug him to me he walks with me hanging onto him to the car and places me in the passenger seat kneeling down In front of me he wipes my tears away once I calm down David walks around the car and gets in.
"I'm ok. I'm just happy it's over," David squeezes my hand
"Where to now let's celebrate?" Lenny says
"The upper hand," I say
"What?" they all say
"Today is the day I put all my demons to rest and hopefully never look back." we drive to the upper hand. When we walk in the place, it goes quite we walk to the bar. Sam is there.
"I don't want you in my pub," Sam snaps
"We won't stay," David says. Tiffany has a smile on her face.
"Tiffany, does Sam know about you taking from the till?" her face drops
"I have not," Tiffany says
"Sure you haven't" I says "Sam I don't know what I ever did to you, you calling me a slut and putting me down all the time but considering you are sleeping with Tiffanys sister I find that quite a cheek."
"You what? Sam, that better not be true. " Tiffany says Sam looks guilty
"Well, I'm done. Let's go." we all walk out
"You bitch" Tiffany screams, I walk out the door laughing I get in the car still laughing, all the guys are laughing as well.
"That was great," Len says
"Go, Kylie Go Kylie" Mike says
"That was fantastic," Carl says
"Let's go get some chips and go to the lake"
"Sounds good to us," they say. we get some chips and drinks and head to the lake it's beautiful here. We all sit down.
"I feel free," I say
"Good feeling," Len says
"No more drama. I can just get on with my life,"
"That sentence was brilliant," David says
"Well, we talked about that in the chambers. This way, I don't have to look over my shoulders and worry about our kids." I blush and look at David he leans over and kisses me
"I would never have thought of that sentence," Carl says
"What she said in court didn't help she was going to keep coming after me," I say
"True," Mike says
"I love all you guys, you know that, right?"
"We do, and we all love you too," Lenny says. The guys are nodding their heads
"My life starts today." I start crying again, and suddenly, I'm lifted, and then I'm on David's lap
"Let it out, baby, let it all out," David says. I have never cried for so long in my life it's like all the emotions I have hidden inside all come pouring out. It's now night time the stars are out and it's beautiful I lie in David's arms looking up at the sky, we decide to head home.
I love looking at the stars so I walk straight out to the swing seat and sit down, David and the guys come out Lenny lights the fire,David sits next to me and puts a blanket over us the guys all have chairs with blankets and we sit there looking at the stars, not talking just enjoying it's so peaceful what more could I want, I have a man I love, great friends and grandparents.
