One Too Many

Twenty-Seven

Riley's pov:

It's a bit later on now and Keila has woken up, had breakfast and is now in her playroom playing with her barbies. Em has taken Hailie out in a walk but Keila didn't want to go. Hailie is definitely more of an Auntie Emily kinda girl where Keila is more of an Auntie Piper kinda girl.

Me and James took a shower, together, after making breakfast and now we're getting dressed for the day. My parents are coming over for Christmas and will be here later today, probably around lunchtime. Then on Christmas Day, James parents are coming over and so is piper. It's going to be a pretty busy day but I'm excited.

"Mummy? Daddy?" We both turn our heads to see Keila stood at the door of our bedroom with her Barbies in her hands.
"Will you play with me?" She asks innocently and pouts her lips. I smile over at her before replying.
"We'll be there in just a minute baby." She smiles and turns back to go to her playroom.
"Babe, hurry up, Keila wants us to go play with her." I call out to James who's in the bathroom doing something, I'm not really sure what if I'm being honest.
"Ok, I'll be out in a minute or- a minute or two." He stutters, I roll my eyes and shake my head but finish my make up and then go and find Keila.

She's playing Tea-Parties with her dolls and it's the most adorable thing I've ever seen in my life.
"Hey beautiful, what we playing?" I ask as I sit down on the floor with her.
"Princess Tea-Parties. Everyone has to put a tiara on, even Daddy!" She giggles, I smile at her and put in a tiara like she said and pour a cup of 'tea' for myself.
"So, what are we playing then Kay?" James' voice echo's through the room.
"We are playing Tea-Parties and you have to wear a crown." She giggles again while passing him a princess crown for him to wear. James pouts pretending to be upset about the tiara.
"Do I have to babe?" He looks at me and I just simply nod.
"If you want to be a princess!" Keila squeals. I just start laughing as Keila jumps on him to try and put the tiara on top of James' head, it's hilarious.
"How to I look?" He asks his daughter.
"Beautiful." She giggles at him.

It's now a bit later and we're all downstairs watching a movie together, waiting for my parents to arrive. It feels so Christmassy and I love it. We're all cuddled up together in blankets on the sofas in the movie room. Me and James are on the arm chair, me in his lap and the girls are snuggled up with Emily on the bigger sofa. It was only about 11 in the morning we had all the lights out as if it was late at night.

About half way through the film, I decide to go down and get a few snacks because I'm getting a bit hungry.
"Jay, I'm just going to and get some food from downstairs." I say to him trying not to make much noise and k get off his lap.
"Okay, I'm coming though." He persists.
"Come on then." I say holding his hand as we walk down the stairs and into the kitchen.
"What are we getting then?" James asks when we're downstairs.
"We've got loads of sweets so I'm going to put them all on a board and bring it down."
"Ahh, that's a good idea."
"I kn-" I start saying but get interrupted by a knock at the door.
"I'll get it Ri!" James shouts as he's already basically at the door.

James' pov:

I run to the front door to answer it and see who it is.
"Jamie!" My mum squeals as if she was a child.
"Hey mum, how are you?" I chuckle giving her a hug while she answers me.
"I'm great thanks James, how are you and Riley?" She asks, I nod my head and answer saying we're all good.
"Hi James." My sister mumbles, busy looking down at her phone.
"Nice to see you too Pipes!" I say, fake enthusiasm cursing through my words.
"Shut up, where is everyone?" She says taking her eyes off her phone for once.
"Movie room." I state bluntly as possible while she walks past me.
"Hey son." My dad says once mum and Piper have walked past me and into the house.
"Not to be rude dad, but why are you guys here today? Me and Ri thought you weren't coming up 'til Christmas Day?" I ask trying to sound as polite as possible.
"Well we weren't but your mother insisted that we spend a few more days together. I know Riley's parents are coming today but it's your mother, can't say no to her now can we! " He replies. I shrug my shoulders and help my dad bring all the bags in.

Once all the bags were in the hallway, they all go up to the movie room while me and Ri stay down for a few more minutes. Ri's board looks great, I'm sure everyone will love it.

A few minutes later, there's another knock at the door. This time both me and Ri answered it to be met by her parents this time.
"Hey Mum, Hey dad." Riley greets her parents with a hug.
"Riley! James!" Jude greets exactly like my mum did.
"Why are there loads of bags in the hallway?" Kyle asks.
"Oh, um, James' parents and sister are here too." Riley says and Jude and Kyle smile even wider at the sound of that.
"Oh my, really? I didn't think they were coming until Christmas!" Jude exclaims. Jude and my mum have been really good friends long before me and Riley were born, so I knew she'd be excited that my mum came to visit a few days earlier.
"We're all in the movie room, we'll help with bags then we can go up to meet the others." Riley explains as we go out to get their bags from the car.

Now all the bags are here and everyone is here, we all go back up to the movie room. Luckily there's loads of space for everyone. Emily is still snuggled with the girls on the larger sofa, my parents are on the recliners off to the side. Piper has taken on of the massive fluffy bean bags, Ri's parents have taken the other two recliners and me and Riley are on the little arm chair just as before. We love having all of our family over so we decided to make sure we had a big room just like this for times like these. In this room, there's loads of games to play as well, like pool, darts and other fun things to do. We made it so the pool table can be converted into a regular table if we want to put snack on it when we're watching a movie.

HIIII I'M SO SORRY I HAVEN'T BEEN ACTIVE BUT MY GCSES ARE IN LIKE THREE WEEKS AND I'M STRESSED AND IM REVISING, HERES AN UPDATE AND I WILL PROBABLY NOT UPDATE AGAIN UNTIL LIKE AFTER MY EXAMS. PROBABLY NOT UNTIL ABOUT JULY-ISH CUZ I HAVE PROM AND STUFF LIKE THAT. ALSO LETS PRAY THAT I DON'T FAIL CHEMISTRY AND PHYSICS 🙏🙏🙏🙏
