Chapter 2

After class has finished Nydia left the classroom to get lunch, it is her daily routine to go to the canteen to get lunch since her parents is busy to make her food. As she walking down the hall way someone shouted out to her, "Wait! Nydia!" it was Jerry, he jumps in front of her and carry on speaking, "why was you so angry with me?" Nydia shot an angry face to signal him to leave her alone and walked off. Jerry stood there in shock; he has no idea what he did wrong at all.

After school Jerry stand at the school front entrance leaning against the wall while drawing on his note pad. As soon as he sees Nydia in site he bounce up and walk towards her and said, "Tell me! Why are you so angry? Normally you are cool, calm and collected. What did I do wrong?"

Nydia shoot a glare at him and said, "You should not touch Mell's string." and then she walked off. At the moment in time Nydia thought she spoke too much.

"What? What do you mean? I don't understand, explain clearly!"

She said, "you know," and pace away from him.

"I don't know, I won't know until you tell me. Now you got me curious." His eye is beaming with curiosity.

The boy got Nydia pissed off, she raise her voice a little bit and said, "Leave me alone," and walked off.

 Nydia finally arrived home. This is the most exhausting first day back at school. No. it is the most soul draining day for Nydia of the moment she was born. Usually her day is calm and quite. No one talk to her apart from Mell. However, today Jerry annoyed her like an annoying wisp buzzing around her ear. Finally Nydia can have pace and quite. But...

*Clack clack*

What is that noise? It is from outside. What annoying pest that disturbs Nydia's rest time after a long day. To find out what happened outside, she slowly got up from the honey coated sofa and looked outside. It is the movers from next door. The house was on sale one month ago, and someone brought the house last week. At this moment in time, Nydia wonder who the new neighbour would be. The previous neighbour was a sweet chubby man that gives Nydia's family strawberries near the harvest time. They were big, round, and sweet full of juices. Hopefully this neighbour would be kind like that last one.

*ping pong* the sound vibrate through the house. "Coming!" shouted Nydia's mother.

Nydia without hesitation shouted, "Mother! I will get the door."

Her mother replied back in a joking tone "Ok, don't scare them off!"

The reason why Nydia quickly go to get the door is because her mother is pregnant, she cares a lot about her mother so she don't want to put anymore strain on her.

Nydia runs down and swings the door open, there was a man standing there. Nydia looks up. The man is very tall, about 180cm. Has blond hair and blue eyes. This man looks very familiar. Nydia lost deep in her though thinking where she saw him before.

The man said cheerful, "nice to meet you, I am your new neighbour, my name is Mr Mcconville. Here is a little hello gift for you. Have a good day." He smiled and walked off very quickly before Nydia can say thank you and present her name. She goes back into her house and closed the door. She walked into the house aimlessly wondering who it was. Then her mother shouted, "Who was it?"

Nydia shouted back "new neighbour!"

The next day during class, Nydia saw Kerry in her site. Hm? He does look like the new neighbour guy. Oh well. Maybe it is just per chance they look alike. Just because they have the same colour eyes does not mean they are relatives. At this moment Nydia and Jerry made eye contact. Jerry smiled at her but Nydia swing her head away to face the teacher.

After school has arrived, Jerry ran over to Nydia and ask, "Why was you looking at me for? Am I that handsome that you have to stare at me during class?" he looks very proud of himself but Nydia gave him an evil glare and walked off. Kerry cheerful face flipped into a sad puppy, and continued walking following Nydia.

"Nydia, come on. Tell me! What did I do wrong? What do you mean by touching Mell's string?"

"The power."

"Huh?"

"You know the answer."

"I don't know the answer."

The two of them keep saying the same answer over and over again. Nydia got onto the bus to get home. Jerry followed her onto the bus.

Nydia said in an annoyed tone, "stop following me."

"What!" Jerry is upset; he paused and said, "I am not following you. I am going home."

Hm... he does not sound very convincing. She sits down on the bus, Jerry sat next to her. after a couple of stops has passed, she reach for the 'STOP' button. At this moment in time Jerry press it aswell. Their hand touches slightly. Nydia glace an evil glare at him saying, 'don't touch me'.

Jerry got a bit scared from Nydia's reaction cause him to jump back a bit. They both got off the bus together. Nydia walked off towards her house. Jerry did not move for a while and run towards Nydia. For the whole journey home they did not speak one single word while Nydia have a very scary expression on her facing expressing, "DON'T YOU DARE SPEAK TO ME NOW."

Nydia reached the street of where her house belongs, Jerry is still following her! Nydia stared at him again. Jerry back off a bit with his hand in the air and said, "Swear down, I am not following you."

Nydia does not believe him. She thinks that he is following her, she have gave up on telling her not to follow or so she said, "do whatever suits you."

"What! You don't believe me?" Jerry ran in front of his house and point at it and said, "This is my house!" the house he is pointing at is the new neighbour's house.

Nydia at this point in time is very feed up of him and does not believe him at all, she thinks he is making up lies, since she saw the new neighbour. She just ignored him and opens the door to her house.

Jerry shouts, "OMG! You live next to me! We are neighbours!" he jumps up and down in joy.

Nydia whispers to herself, "What? he really lives next door?"

*Tick clack* Mr Mcconville front door opens and he jumps out, he joyfully said, "How was school son!"

"Hey dad! Not too bad. It is an exciting fun day." When he answered him he glace over to Nydia.

"You must tell me the whole story, quick quick." When Mr Mcconville closes the door he saw Nydia and said, "Hello Neighbour, how are you?"

Nydia completely ignored him since she is deep in thought. He shouted again, "Neighbour! Hello?"

"Nydia!" Jerry shouted to her to help his dad get her attention.

Nydia shouted back to Jerry coldly, "What?"

"my dad is calling you,"

Nydia face turn slightly red from the embarrassment of not believe Jerry and completely ignoring them. She says her greeting to them and walked back into her house.

Jerry lives so close to Nydia, this makes it easier for him to find out her secret and tell everyone. What can she do?
