9 year old Éclair's Pov
I was sitting against a tree reading a book about spells.
When all of the sudden I hear someone singing.
I walked to where the singing was coming from to see a Gnome with a lute singing.
I then climb up into a apple tree and when he didn't expect it I throw apple.
"Ahh". He yelled
I then go back to reading until.
"Hey who the hell throw that"? The Gnome asked in anger
"You know your really annoying for a Gnome". I said a little annoyed jumping down from a tree
He gives a look of surprise.
"What is a kid like you doing out here"? The Gnome asked
"I live in these woods". I said
"By yourself"? He asked
"Yeah pretty much". I said
He his face changes to a look of pity.
"Say what's your name kid"? He asked
"Éclair.... Éclair Barleyshard and yours"? I asked
"Scanlan Shorthalt". He said
"Well I'll see you around Scanlan byeee". I said running off
Timeskip 6 days later
I was now sitting in the rain soaking wet.
As I was there I curled myself up to stay warm when all of the sudden.
"Hey there you are kid I've been looking for you for days". Said Scanlan
"Why all I am is just a kid that no one wants". I said
"Well you may be a kid but I would if you know if your alright with it if I could adopt you". He said
I then run up to him and hug him.
"I...I would like that....dad". I said
He then hugs me back and afterwards we head somewhere we can dry off and Stay warm at.
"There you go all nice and clean, and warm isn't that better"? Asked my dad
"Yeah". I said
After I was dried off my dad gets me the sleep gown and puts it on me.
I then fall asleep acouple minutes later.
