While waiting for Muerte and Cody to wake up, you had decided to read one of the alchemy books that Corlis had sent home with you. Unfortunately, they had gotten very sloshed the night before and didn't wake for several hours after the sun had come up. You'd been reading for so long that you eventually fell back asleep. It was almost 2 in the afternoon by the time Muerte woke up. Groaning as his eyes open, blinded by the light pouring in through the windows. A weight on his chest stops him from sitting up, making him look down. He smiles seeing Cody sleeping peacefully on him, snoring softly. He shoves him off and onto the floor, not at all surprised when Cody doesn't stir whatsoever. He looks around, cringing seeing the mess that is the living room. Rising to his feet, letting out a sigh before going to the kitchen and getting himself some water.
Muerte had woken you up shortly after he did, not wanting you to sleep too much and get sick. He'd brought you some food when he woke you, figuring you'd be hungry. You greatly appreciated this, your hormones almost making you cry. He left you to eat while he went back to cleaning the living room. Cody eventually woke up and assisted him in cleaning seeing as they both made the mess with their drunken antics that were wrestling over the bottles of liquor or at one point seeing who could hold a handstand longer. The two of them shared tired laughs as they cleaned and spoke of what they could remember the night before. You walked into the living room carrying your plate only to see the two of them lining the little coffee table with the bottles they'd emptied the night before. Giggling to yourself, they both turn around and look at you, Cody blushing lightly in embarrassment. Muerte stands up, walking around the couch and to you and kissing your forehead, gently taking the plate from your hands and walking to the kitchen. You sat down on the couch and looked at Cody, smiling at him. "Thank you for cleaning up, it means a lot to me." He smiled back at you, his cheeks still dusted slightly red. "Why wouldn't I? I contributed to making the mess, I damn well better make sure it gets cleaned up." You really enjoyed how respectful and responsible he was, always willing to help out and take care of things. Muerte walked back into the room with a little cup of juice for you, handing it to you as he sat by you on the sofa. You kiss him on his nose, making him smile. You take a sip of your juice before setting the cup on the coffee table, turning to Muerte. "So I've already talked to Corlis and Maori about this, I wanted to see your opinions on the matter." They both look at you, intrigued at what you have to say. Unsure how they'll react to your question, you take a deep breath and then begin to speak. "Would you two feel about Cody and his moms as well as Julie and her family moving to the town with us? Just so we don't have to travel so far anymore and start rebuilding the area, yeah?" The two of them look at you with dropped jaws, too stunned to speak. All the color drains from your face, instantly feeling discomfort. "I-I'm sorry was that too soon to ask? I apologize for that-." "No!" Both of them yell, making you jump. "(Y/N), that's a wonderful idea! That would be amazing! Do you know how long I've wanted my family to all be within walking distance?!" Cody almost yells again, his eyes beaming with joy. Muerte pulls both you and Cody into a tight hug, smiling big. "That would be truly amazing, mi vida. Listen, I'm sorry to leave so suddenly and in the middle of such an important moment but I really should've left hours ago." He kisses you both on your foreheads before letting go. He stands up and quickly heads for the door, saying gleefully, "¡Adiós, mis amores!" (Goodbye, my loves!) before leaving. Cody then pulls you into a tight hug, tears in his eyes threatening to fall. "Thank you so much, (Y/N)! My family will be together! Thank you!" His voice cracks as he starts to sob from how elated he was, making you hold him slightly tighter. "Our family, hermanito." He chuckles through his cries, burying his face into your shoulder. "Te amo, hermana." You feel your eyes start to water, smiling as you hold him. "Yo también te amo, hermanito."
You and Cody would spend the next few hours outside, strolling around the broken little buildings that made up the crumbled and forgotten village. Cody looked at each of the dilapidated structures, openly voicing his visions and ideas and all the potential he saw in the surrounding area. You admired how he saw everything in such a positive way, how everything had some sort of spark to it that grabbed his attention and inspired new ideas for him. He also shocked you with how much of a gentleman he is, how considerate and respectful of boundaries he was truly threw you for a loop. He held your arm as you walked, seeing as you were getting bigger and starting to waddle instead of walk. You found yourselves walking in front of what looked like it was once a small church, it's roof almost completely caved in and it's door as well as windows missing entirely. You both stop, staring at the remnants of the building. You stand there with Cody for a few moments in a comfortable quiet, the two of you thinking. The silence is broken by Cody speaking up. "I think my mothers are going to love this area. Mama Corlis and I have been thinking about leaving Los Rotos for years, Mama Maori always said she couldn't leave because it's where her child was born." You look at him, seeing a calm smile on his lips. You couldn't help but think about how nice it will be to just walk down the road and see your mothers, to see Julie. Smiling to yourself, you speak up. "She said the same thing when I talked to her and Corlis about moving. But she also told me that she was excited to get to start over somewhere new with her family and get to watch it grow. She is just ecstatic to rebuild a home with you and your mom." He grins, showing his teeth and letting out a soft chuckle. "Thank you, (Y/N). You mean a lot to me, y'know that? You've done so much for my family and myself and I don't think I'll ever be able to thank you enough." You blush lightly, rolling your eyes. "Oh hush, that's what I'm here for." He raises an eyebrow at you before asking, "How'd you get that scar?" You glare playfully at him. "Why are you 21 and single?" His eyes go wide, his cheeks and ears dusting pink. "Okay okay, we can hash this out later. Let's get you home though, you're starting to overheat." You grumble to yourself, gently whacking him on the shoulder. "You're too much like your dad."
Muerte got home that evening, walking inside and being greeted by almost complete darkness with the exception of the dim light emitted by the dying embers in the fireplace. Confused, he closes the door before stepping further into his home. As he opens his muzzle to call out, his nerves are instantly calmed hearing you and Cody laughing. Smiling to himself, he walks to the bedroom. He opens the door only to see you and Cody sitting in a blanket fort, you were focusing on putting eyeliner on Cody, gotta make sure those wings are even! Neither of you noticed the door had opened or Muerte's presence. You pulled away, blowing softly on Cody's face so the eyeliner would dry. Muerte leans against the door frame, watching the two of you. Once the liner dries you tell Cody to open his eyes and hand him a small handheld mirror. He smiles and gently takes the eyeliner brush from your hand and begins doing your eyeliner. You smile happily, thankfully you now have somebody that likes to do makeup with you. Cody finishes your eyeliner in seemingly record time, blowing softly on your face to speed up the drying process. "Are you done already?" You asked, shocked. He stops and sits back, setting the brush down. "Sure am! Looks pretty good too!" He places the small mirror in your hands. "Okay, open up." You open your eyes and look at your reflection, seeing the most perfect cat wing liner you've ever looked at. Your jaw drops. "Oh my gosh, Cody that's amazing! How'd you do that?" He chuckles, rolling his eyes. "When you've been drawing since you could hold a pencil, you get a pretty steady hand." You look at him, grinning. "Teach me how to do this please!" The two of you are interrupted by laughter, making you both turn to the doorway and see your lobo doubled over and almost cackling. "You two are so cute! I love it!" He says through his laughter, wiping tears from his eyes. You both blush, looking away from him. He eventually stops laughing to catch his breath, walking over and sitting down by you. You and Cody look at each other and think the same thing. "I'm doing his eyeliner!" You both yell in unison, making Muerte burst into another fit of laughter.
