The last bell of the day rings, meaning that the school day is finally over. I make my way to the parking lot. I find Mischa looking rather nervous in front of his car.
"Hi, what was it you needed help with?"
M: "I want to propose to my Talia but I don't know how."
"Hold up- propose?! We're seniors! And why would you need my help?"
M: "Yes I would like to propose, I want to get engaged with my love as fast as possible."
"Why?"
M: "Love can not wait."
"Ok, but that still doesn't explain why you want my help."
M: "I would ask her 'bestie' Penny but I think she will snitch and you look like you know about a lot when it comes to love."
"What the heck does that even mean?"
M: "I read your love poem and book thingy."
"You read my journal?"
M: "Not a lot, just some. It fell out of bag so I read it during class yesterday. Not sure what it is about but I read the word 'sex' many times."
I don't think I've ever been that embarrassed. Nobody was ever supposed to read that journal, not only were my poems just plain cringy and cliche, but my novel I was writing wasn't really 'holy.' Scratch that..I'd probably get expelled if any teacher got their hands on it. The closest I've gotten to that was when I was suspended in grade seven for suddenly breaking into an excerpt from "Waiting for Godot" during the St. Cassian Nativity Pageant. It was pretty funny.
But this novel I'm writing is about this hooker in post-war France named Monique Gibeau. I hope he hadn't read too far.
At that point it was clear I was blushing from the embarrassment.
"It's a good story if that makes it better. I am very invested." Mischa says once he notices the pink spreading on my face.
"Thanks, don't tell anyone about it though. Also I guess I'll help with your proposal."
Mischa gives me a hug. That's weird, just this morning I barely even knew this guy and now he holds a secret of mine. I'm also gonna help him with his proposal. I was actually gonna decline but I just blurted out that I will just to change the subject.
This should be interesting
