New Leg

Y/n's POV...
I had found my way outside with my crutches to use for leverage. Its been three months since we stopped Lilly and the raiders. And three months since my sister, Clementine, amputated my leg, saving my life. Thank God she did. I would have missed her and AJ. And the rest of our friends at the school, but mostly them, Louis, and Violet. As soon as I got to the yard, i went to a bench to sit. Clem came to me and hugged me. "Hey, sis. Nice to see you." I said.
"You too, Y/n." She let go.
"Where's AJ?" I asked her.
"Outside the gate with Louis." She replied. I nodded at her answer and she sat next to me. "Clem?"
"What is it?" She asked.
"I never did thank you for chopping my leg off and saving me." I said to her.
"I know you did mentally." She gave a smile and looked at my stump. "Caught ya." I said.
"Darn. We're making a game outta this?" She asked. I laughed, but then I let out a groan. "What is it?" She asked again. I started massaging my leg a little. "Phantom pain again. God damn, it hurts." I said. The only downfall was the phantom pain that comes and goes every once in a while. "I'll be okay." I smiled at her.
"You know I couldn't let you just die. I saw it as a second chance." She said. "We couldn't save Lee, but I could save you."
"Thank you for that." I said to my sister. Out of no where, I felt a pair of arms wrap around my leg. I looked and saw AJ. "Oh, hey buddy." I smiled at AJ.
"Morning, Y/n." AJ said to me.
"You're moving. Thats good." Louis said, smiling.
"Hi there, Louis." I raised my hand up and he high-fived me. "Did you and AJ enjoy the little 'field trip' you went on?" I asked.
"Yeah, i did! Louis showed me a little nest with a few baby-bird eggs in it!" AJ exclaimed. Louis wrapped an arm around Clementine and the two shared a kiss. I smiled, happy my sister was happy with Louis. "By the way, uhh...have you seen Violet by any chance?" I asked.
Violet. I've been thinking about her the last week or two. My crush on her had grown, and I'm feeling more and more guilty for not saying anything. But i remembered something Tripp once told me; "there are three things that never stay hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth."
"I think she was headed to our dorm." Clementine said. I looked back. "Okay. I'll go there then." I grabbed my crutches and as I pulled myself forward to get up, I almost fell onto Louis. "Sheit. Sorry." I said.
"Its okay. Go ahead and see Vi. I heard she had a gift for you." Louis said. A slight hint of pink jumped on my cheeks as I turned around.

I made my way through the school to our dorm. I saw Violet standing there as I pushed the door open. "Oh, shit. You're here earlier than I thought." She said, sounding somewhat flustered. She was also standing in front of something. "What do you got?" I asked her.
"Well, I was still making sure it would work, but...here it is." She turned around and grabbed it. She showed me a part of a chair leg with a round wood cut out at the top. "Whats this?" I asked.
"Its a new leg." Violet said. "Since you lost your real leg, Clem and I thought it would be nice if we- with the help of Louis to put it together- made you this." Violet said. I sat down on the bottom bed. Me and AJ switched bunks since it would make things easier for me. I looked at the chair leg and put my stump leg on it. To my shock, it filled the gap between my stump and he floor perfectly. "How...?" I asked. "And also, how do I... how do I put it on?" I asked.
"That sounds dirty." Violet snickered.
"And you saying, 'i call the chicken breasts' doesn't?" I asked. We both started laughing. "Anyway, you put your leg in here." She pointed at some type of hold for my leg. I put my leg in it, it feeling tight enough to where it wouldn't fall out, but loose enough that its not uncomfortable. I stood up, almost stumbling back. "Well, when we imagined playing pirate, i never woulda thought i'd really get a peg leg." I said. Violet smiled at me. I grabbed my left crutch. "I can use this to help me stand and walk until I get used to it. Thanks, Vi." I hugged her, her immediately hugging back.
