Two days later...
"Easy, Y/n." Clementine told me as I started walking without my crutch. Over the past few days, Clementine, Louis, and Violet have been helping me out with my new leg, helping me with getting used to walking with it. AJ was there for cheer support. "You got this, Y/n!" He'd say continuously as I moved.
"I'm okay, Clementine." I said as I held my arms out to try to keep my balance. I slowly lowered them, keeping my balance. I started to walk normally, but the chair leg didn't completely come off the ground. Clem caught me as I kicked a rock and fell towards the ground. "I got you!" Clem said. She gave me the crutch. I grabbed it and got back up. "I'm alright. I'll be okay." I said.
"Not if we ever have to run." Clementine said.
"You'll get used to it, Y/n." AJ told me. I ruffled the boy's hair. "I appreciate it, buddy." I told him. I looked beyond Clementine and saw a small group of walkers coming. "Shit. Walkers." I said.
"WALKERS!!!" Willy shouted.
"Anyone else think he's louder than a gun?" I asked. Louis, Violet, Aasim, and Ruby were on deck and ready to battle the walkers. Clementine pulled out her knife. I pulled my knife out, but Violet and Louis went to me. "Maybe you should stay." Louis told me.
"I'll be fine. Trust me." I said. I grabbed my crutch and went out with the rest of the fight party. I watched Clementine kneecap and stab walkers in the head, Louis bash the walkers with Chairles, and Violet slice their faces with her cleaver knife. I used my crutch as a way to knock the walkers down, while I then used my knife to kill it. I repeated this process until I got back to back with Louis. "I underestimated you. I'm sorry." He said in a happy tone. I smiled at the dread head and whacked the walker in front of me, then stabbing my knife into its head. Clem ran over with her knife and killed a walker that was behind me. "Thanks, sis." I high fived her. I then heard Violet yell. "Shitfuck! Fuck!" She screamed as a walker pushed her down. I tried running to her as fast as I could, surprisingly not falling on my face, whacking the walker with my crutch. I then used the crutch to break the walker's back, paralyzing it. I double-tapped the walker and stabbed it ten times in the back of the head. "Holy shit!" I heard from Aasim. I wiped my knife on the walker's shirt. "Damn. Help me up, someone?" I asked. Violet grabbed my arm and helped me to my foot and chair leg. "Thanks." I said.
"Thank you too." She said.
"Lets get back inside Ericso-" I stopped myself. "Sorry. Lets get back inside Texas Two." I said, teasing Violet. She had a light pink blush come onto her cheeks, and I thought it was cute, so I started blushing too. We got together. I grabbed my crutch again. We made it back inside Texas Two. I ran straight to a couch in the middle of the yard and took a seat. "Hnnph..." I groaned.
"Hey, take it easy, pal." Louis said. Clementine sat next to me. Louis sat next to my sister and kissed her. "Idiot." She called him.
"Hey." He smiled and winked at her. "Well, i got a plan to try blow some steam off." Louis pulled out his cards.
"Those didn't fall out in the river when we were swimming to the boat?" I asked Louis.
"They were REALLY hidden." Louis said. I shook my head. Violet came to take a seat next to me. Aasim also took a seat. "Tonight's game...lets see. Black, its truth or dare. Red, its war." Louis said. He drew from his deck and got black. "Truth or dare!" Louis passed the deck around. I had the lowest and Violet had the highest. "When did you develop the savage walker stabbing?" Violet asked.
"Me just trying to be there. For Clem and for friends." I claimed. We all drew again. Aasim won and Clementine lost. "Your favorite thing about Louis?" Aasim asked. Clem looked at me. I just shrugged. "Your truth." I said. Clem looked at Louis and stared him in the eyes. "His sense of humor." Clementine said.
"So in a way his personality. How kind." I smiled. Clementine and Louis leaned forward to kiss. "Guys, get a room." Violet said. The two pulled away and the deck was put around again. We saw I had the lowest and Louis had the highest. "I got it." Louis smiled at me.
"Last time you said that..."
"Yeah." Louis nodded, interrupting me. "Do you have a crush anyone here?" Louis asked.
Of course he was putting me on the spot. I knew what the truth was. But i didn't want to say it. And i wasn't gonna deny it either. So i said the only thing that I thought worked. "Maybe I do. Maybe I don't." I told Louis with a shrug. Me and him made eye contact. "Bullshit. You do." Louis called. "And now i can't stop thinking about it."
"Well, try to, okay?" I said to Louis. "Pass the deck around again." Louis did so and passed the cards around to us all. Clementine won and Violet lost. "Damn." Violet said. "Bring it on, Clementine." Clementine then had a smirk appear on her face as if a list just ran through her mind. She thought long and hard, but finally asked a question. "Would you rather fight five walkers at once or ten walkers one at a time?" Clementine asked.
"Is there more people around me, or is it just me?" Violet asked.
"Just you."
"Then ten walkers one at a time." Violet said.
"Smart." I smiled at her. The deck was passed around again. This time, Aasim won and I lost. "Well, this is a strange combo." I stated.
"Yeah, definitely." Aasim said. "Where did that James guy go?"
"We don't know. We lost contact with him in a cave." I told them.
"Well, i say we call it game there." Louis said. "And Y/n, you and I are eventually gonna talk."
"Louis, leave him be." Clem said.
"Thank you, sis." I smiled at Clementine.
"I should go. Talk about Y/n's love life is starting to get too awkward for me." Violet walked away. Clementine and Louis went in the direction of the piano room. I soon followed Violet.
